I can never understand why these quiet, non polluting vehicles were done away with, to be replaced by noisy smelly diesels in our cities.

Because they were beyoned their sell by date, old and restrictive in that they could not run off the over head wires into new housing estates as new over head wiring required installing and in the 1970's it was not being manufactured any more so Diesel Buses were introduced that could go any where, the modern equiverlent now is the Electric Buses being built that are as versatile as a Diesel Bus that can travel ant where with out over head wiring.

The Black Country Museum and Dudley are not in Birmingham. Dudley is a Metropolitan Town in it's own right nd is not a part of Birmingham being arround 7 miles from Birmingham in the Black Country
