Trolleybuses in Arnhem, Nl - Arnhemse trolleybus 2016

The trolleybus system is unique in the Netherlands as the only trolleybus system still operating in the country. It opened on 5 September 1949. Arnhem has a population of almost 150,000.

De Arnhemse trolleybus is het enige nog bestaande trolleybusnetwerk in de Benelux en één van de grootste in West-Europa.
Lange tijd was vervoerder GVA, later opgegaan in GVM, daarna Oostnet en sinds 1999 Connexxion, verantwoordelijk voor de exploitatie. Na openbare aanbesteding door de provincie Gelderland kwam de concessie voor het busvervoer in de gehele Stadsregio Arnhem Nijmegen en daarmee ook de trolley per 9 december 2012 in handen van Hermes, een dochteronderneming van Connexxion. Het busvervoer in de gehele stadsregio wordt sinds 13 december 2009 uitgevoerd onder de naam Breng.
