Ive often just caught skipjack when trolling on sak. does depth matter or is location the key with this tactic since im more use to pulling bottom bouncers like most do?

We often find skip jack out over open water more but catch them all over. We like to troll for walleyes on long channel edges or on flats but we have pulled cranks along deep breaks over open water.

How can you go so shallow with 4 lines and not constantly be getting snags? How much line to let out behind boat? Does time of day matter?

We have been snagged plenty. Figuring out a specific trolling pass where you can troll along the trees is half the battle. We were running about 30 feet. Time of day matters some days but most days, find the fish and put your baits in front of the fish.
