Nice mess of fish Justin! Sometimes it seems like the smaller ones are harder to hold on to and have more fight in them. Keep it up be safe

Thx for sharing. Have you ever tried a throw net for the small shad? I toss mine on the water as needed. The little schools of shad hit the top of the water quite a bit here. The never ending bait bucket. They are a smaller bait but the cats dont seem to mind.
@KayakCatfish6 жыл бұрын
I throw a cast net occasionally. I just don’t like to have to rely on netting shad to get bait.

Thank you for another "Fantastic" video... what exactly is the brake line that your fishing? Is it where the main river channel connect to slower water?
@KayakCatfish6 жыл бұрын
A breakline is a sudden change in depth. I like to fish the breakline where the ledge starts to come up off the river bottom. Thanks for watching!

I know you use good size pieces of bait but you ever use bluegills or other sunfish for bait? I just figure they would be easier to catch
@KayakCatfish6 жыл бұрын
I do use bluegill when other baits are hard to find. I wish I had better success with using them. It would be much easier on me to get bait.

Once again another quality video! Are you now using in-line trolling sinkers instead of the egg slip sinkers? If not what weights are you using now? If so, are you liking those weight better then the egg sinkers or just trying them out?
@KayakCatfish6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Steven! The trolling sinkers were an experiment. I tried them out for about a month. It didn’t work out so I am sticking with the egg sinkers until I come up with my next big idea lol.

@KayakCatfish6 жыл бұрын
Thanks! In this video, I was suspend fishing so I just had my regular sinkers on. If you are referring to my dragging sinkers, I make them myself. I have a how to video on my channel showing how to make them.

do you have a backplate on your rod holders? or are they just screwed in? Wanting to put some on my kayak.
@KayakCatfish6 жыл бұрын
My rod holders are bolted on with a nut and washer inside the hull. My kayak’s hull is good quality and thicker than most of the less expensive brands though. For most other brands, I would recommend using a backing plate.
@bbsbbsairsoft48416 жыл бұрын
@@KayakCatfish thanks. I got a feelfree lure. I'm guessing the plastics about the same. I'll still use a back plate if I can get to it. Thank you.

What do you mean when you continue break line? Elaborate more plz?!
@KayakCatfish6 жыл бұрын
When I am drifting or trolling, I follow the breaklines of whatever structure I happen to be fishing on that particular day. That is usually where the fish will be found.
