Nice work! It can be tough to keep big salmon buttoned on crankbaits. Thanks for not editing out the battle; watching it gets the adrenaline going.

Always enjoy your vids! I'm certain that another y.tube channel was trolling WITH the current over the n.bar in a fairly recent vid. Being a boatless angler myself, I'm not one who's any expert at trolling lol

Hi Ivo I just ordered some stingeye spinners ( gold/gold, silver/silver, and chartreuse ) and I was wondering what stingeyes you use in different conditions such as either sunny or overcast ?
@azzurriblue653 жыл бұрын
Sunny = silver Cloudy = gold Chartreuse = either one (in my experience)

For occasional flatline trolling like this could you get away with a 6.5-7ft M or MH rod and a 3500 reel?

absolutely yes :)

Very beautiful video, you are lucky. I am interested in know about your line, how much pound test, which brand, also about your rod? Which power, which action and brand also same info for your reel specification, max drag can make reel? And line capacity and brand? I mean if I want to buy same equipment I need this info. Sorry about many questions .thanks and enjoy your fishing.

I like to use 20 lb Seaguar fluorocarbon line and on that day, I was using my Lew's brand, cranking stik, medium power and slow tip, with a Diawa reel :)

Nice to meet you and Antonio at the boat ramp the other day, thanks for putting me on the fish! Ended up catching a couple lakers and unlike you I blew it and lost a king at the boat, it was heartbreaking! How long do the salmon stay up on the bar like that before they head deep?
@thundermistlures3 жыл бұрын
they are typically gone by end of May - april and may are best

Hey Ivo! Great video. This salmon was on the Lake Ontario side (i.e. Lower) of the Niagara River. How safe do you feel about eating it? How many per year?
@thundermistlures3 жыл бұрын
yes, Lake Ontario and there is a free government publication, guide to eating Ontario fish - it will tell you what you can and can not eat, and how many etc. Here is a link for you: www.ontario.ca/page/eating-ontario-fish-2017-18

...glad to hear a happy ending :) just so you know, we are wearing survival suits which are better than the c02 PFD as our entire suit is a floater suit from head to toe :) its the safest think you can wear as it also protects against hypothermia

Are you allowed to keep wild salmon where you fish? I'm only allowed to keep salmon that's been grown and released (clipped fat fin) because wild salmon is important for genetic diversity in the local population.
@thehammah84443 жыл бұрын
Technically its not a wild fish the fish are stocked and while they try and breed the river doesn’t allow- it gets to warm
