Trolling Motor Tool Battery Dingy Range Test

I'm calling the electric dinghy motor project, done... for now.
What I did was remove all the componenets that I had previously installed which were, a RC reciever, the 5v power supply for the RC reciever, the old burnt-out speed controller, and the the 24v dc-dc converter.
The plan was to wire the 2, 4 amp/hr batteries in parallel which would give me aproximately 20 volts to power a 24 volt motor. Some comments here on YT have led me to believe that this would be the most efficient option.
The new speed controller which is 10-50 volt input with 100 amp output, and a fan. It works great, and I shouldn't have wasted all that money on those other components. The new speed controller was $60 and was really all I needed to make this thing go.
Also in this video is a brief review on my new (new to me) Samsung S21 Ultra smart phone. I picked one up from BackMarket.com for $400! Brand new these phones were selling for $1400!

That's a much better system. One thing I learned through experience is to try to keep the number of components to a minimum, for reliability reasons. I had most trouble from joining wires improperly, like you have. Some of the cheap connectors online can be problematic. It's hard to buy that sort of stuff sight unseen. Good crimping pliers are a must. I tried those soldered connectors and ended up crimping them or then not using them at all. Nothing worse than a bad connection at sea on ones electric engine ;)

I have a 1965 nicholson 32ft in northern ireland looks quite similar to your boat.

You should flux those wires before using your quick solder connectors.
