He was talking about "vaal-ing" his armor, which is using something called a Vaal Orb to corrupt it. When you corrupt an item it has a chance to give your item a bonus Stat (he got 4% additional physical damage reduction which is pretty good), do nothing at all, or completely fuck the item up. It's also important to note that once an item is corrupted, you can't modify it any further with the exception of being able to insert runes, etc.. in the sockets that are already there

i can't help myself. the urge to gamba for one extra stat is killing me. right now i got a gem with 17% energy shield, 15 minion damage, 10 chaos resist to minions, 10 minion all res and i want to vaal it so bad. last time i tried to vaal a giga gem it removed a stat

@@kenesawthornley6462 i should learn from you. i vaaled my best belt yesterday on hc and it removed the fire res :( made it into lev1 regen.. it was a belt with 300 armor, 100 life, mana and 3 resistances. lol... worst gamba ever.

The single thing I dont understand when seeing all the streamers is how the fuck can they carry so much shit in their inventories all the time. I have to sort everything and put it back where it belongs after every fucking map and cant imagine doing otherwise.

I'm new to the game but I realized some things are easier to buy than pick up, I made a strict lootfilter and the gameplay runs way smoother, if I'm not doing breaches every map, I just pile everything and deposit every 2-4 maps

@@coxinhawithnescau well sure, as I reached endgame I started using more strict lootfilter myself but there is still lots of loot to pick up, most of the time I finish waystones with like one or two portals left. Anyway apart from omen or a piece of boss eq I have empty inventory and I craft things using currency tab which is extremely convenient.

I was afraid to vaal my gear for the longest time on my ranger. I bought an entirely new set and vaaled everything. Even the HOWA I had just gotten dropped got a second socket lol. +40% rarity, worth. Only bricked my old chestplate and old boots, everything else got a second socket lol. My bow got implicit chaos damage tho, meh. It's worth it once you have extra gear that can at least replace what you have.
