Do you use a DAW and if you do could you tell me what I as a beginner should use.

If this helps i think if you're on PC the best ones for a beginner are Audacity (completely free) Reaper (free to 'evaluate', so basically free, but it's inexpensive anyway) and Ableton. Those 3 are all good in their own right, but personally I think the free version of Ableton is unbeatable due to all the software instruments and live looping workflow. If you're on MacOS or IOS your best options are Garageband (free if you have a reasonably up to date OS, otherwise unobtainable) Logic Pro X (incredibly powerful for everything) and Ableton again. I hope Mr Zone doesn't mind my stepping in to answer! ;)
