Great interview with an 'unsung trombone hero'! I was able to play in some big band rehearsals sitting next to Dan in NYC in the '90's at the Union rehearsal room. He had great words of wisdom about playing with confidence and saying the 'Latin music has to played with a Macho mentality' and other words of encouragement for playing in general. Nice to see that he's alive and well. What a strong player when he's really hitting it!

If anyone wants to get an idea seeing both Paul and Dan playing in big band, check out this video out from an SDSU Alumni concert in 2012. They both solo and trade around the 5 min mark. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r3a8gK2wmpqNitk

Wow what a good find indeed. Paul's putting on a clinic in sound and improv there (and Dan's sound is such a cool contrast)
