The China Spring Cougars hosted the Addison Christian Academy Trojans on Friday, September 7, 2018. The Cougars managed a win 13-10. The game drew a lot of fans because the coach of the Trojans is NFL hall of famer Mike Singletary. During the game, the Cougar trombone and drum sections gave a performance of their "suicide" routine. The crowd loved the precision and skill that the drums and trombones displayed.

The Kid: "It wasn't a ball, it was a tromb-" The Father: "Hold Up, someone hit you with your own instrument?! I knew the players bullying the band kids was a thing in my day but the most I ever did was putting lipstick on the mouthpiece! Honey, the phone's in the kitchen!" The Mother: "Got It... And Honey, That Trumpet musician just looked GORGEOUS in my Lipstick! Back in our day, they did bullying PROPER." The Kid: "What??" The Father: "I know, so many games the band were late because they had to clean their , eh, 'instruments'. No one wanted to see them anyway, they wanted cheerleaders like your mother, or watch the game, I ws the star Quarterback. Never saw the crowd cheer for a band, ever. It just wasn't done." Trombones are super sturdy. They're just about the most indestructible instrument. They are water proof too. You could even bring one in your swimming pool. But anyway, it would take something like a car or a steam roller to bend a trombone like that.

I did these when I was in high school. The worst part was getting the metal mouth piece slammed into your lips and teeth. The pain is obvious, but if you busted your lip hard enough it could really fuck up your embouchure and make it difficult to play the rest of the night. Good times lol.

The word suicide for the routine is incorrect since if a mistake were to be made, you would either hurt someone else with the trombone or be hurt by someone else with theirs. Thus it is not injury inflicted on one's own self. Kudos to your school being smart about word usage :)

For all you that think that the trombone section should be playing while they do this routine, you need to know that they can't. You can't do those kinds of moves and play a trombone at the same time. I know a lot of people that comment have never played a music instrument before and I'm pretty sure they are the ones that are wondering why the trombone section isn't playing. They are not playing because they can't when they are moving around like that. The routine is for show. It is meant to look good and entertain the crowd.

Actually did you guys know that you shouldn't put the flag on anything? It's like how you can't let it touch the ground. It clearly states that it should not be put on anything and should not be imitated.

For the people saying that they need to play in order for it to “better”, they can’t. Like legit can’t. The air won’t be the right speed, they’ll be out of tune. This takes a hell lot of time. Props to them 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 My band could NEVERRRRE

Seriously, though, I don't even think all of then play trombone unless it has exploded in popularity. I never saw a school with half that number of trombone players. (I went to 5A school with huge band).
