The alto sax player actually showed off in a completely different manner to the other musicians. Most of them chose to play a difficult passage of music. The sax player chose to play an extremely famous piece of popular music, despite careless whisper being fairly easy to play, because out of those instruments the sax is the only one with enduring and broad popular appeal.
