Fed countless Quarters into this game. Worked at a go-kart track, with an arcade opposite in '82 when the game came out. Played it before and after my shifts. Love the game. Love the movies. LOVE THIS CHANNEL !!! 👍

I’m loving your videos! I could have sworn my local arcade had some sort of alteration with a curtain that allowed you to step in to either Tron or Discs of Tron. It closed you off from the rest of the arcade and made the experience even more immersive. I wonder if this was a one of a kind? Did anyone else play Tron with a similar cabinet? It was a long time ago so it’s possible that I’m confusing memories, but I’m almost certain this existed at the old Coral Springs mall. Thank you for these videos. Born in 1977 they all hit home and spur fond memories from a wonderful time in my life.

This is one arcade cabinet I wish I had. A local movie theater had one as late as the mid-'90s. The sounds are some of my favorite in video games. Disney's website had a sort of enhanced version of the game on their website for a while, adding "Tron Legacy" versions of the games in addition to the original ones.

I love how the lightcycle sounds would go from slow to fast. One long sound effect that goes from low (slow) to high (fast). So different from the regular boops and beeps of arcade games of the time.

Man, about 10 years ago, I had a friend that ran a bar for some other dude (sorry for being vague, but...). This bar owner had a sit down cabinet of the 82 TRON arcade game. Just collecting dust. I saw the damn thing once, briefly, but never got to play it, let alone try to buy it. Which I couldn't have afforded anyway, but just make an offer, right? I loved this game.

Terrific review. I must’ve dumped hundreds of quarters into this game over the years. It does a great job of capturing the “feeling” of the movie. “Discs of Tron” was a great game in its own right- I didn’t know that it was originally supposed to be part of the main game. I remember there was something a little intimidating about the Tron cabinet- it had such a unique presence on the arcade floor. It looked like it was serious business- but fun all the same.

Thanks! Maybe it was the hint of danger associated with TRON in general, the way Flynn found himself trapped in the Grid and in some very real danger. The only risk for every other game was just a quarter, but with TRON...you never know... :D

I would love to visit the arcade you showed us & I love Tron! I admit I hadn’t played the game since we went to Fort Wilderness in 1983.The game made a impression on me,probably the cabinet & the game play! I wish that Numbskull would release a Tron miniature game like the Ms.Pac-Man I have.I wish there was a Tron near me!

Takes me back to my childhood. I grew up playing Atari, so definitely a nostalgia trip. I remember going to an arcade called Aladdin’s Castle with my friends any chance I had. Kudos on the Tron game. I’ve never played it, but both movies are some of my favs. Tron Legacy still has some of the best cgi I’ve ever seen on screen.....

Digital Domain was one of the companies to make the second movie. I wanted to work there, because they were building a studio here in Port St. Lucie Florida. But now that building is my church. Funny how God works. Well, Tron was a favorite of mine, we even took my mom to go see it on Christmas night, when it came out. It really does make you feel like you are in the computer. This resinated with me especially after I finished my gaming and video degree at college. One day we might be able to visit the inner workings of a computer, who knows? On like Tron!
