Tonight, at last, I finished watching the 1st day of this great drive - thanks for sharing. Better weather in the last two hours+ felt like a reward 🌥🥰 - but no, even in the heavy rain the landscape looked, or at least felt 🌫😄, amazing 💚🌧 💦! I have done that trip in 11 hours in the winter night. But the speed was not so legal especially at saltfjellet. Wonderful road conditions at -11, no slippery.

They are working on it, it seems. I've driven the road from Oslo - North Cape and Kirkenes several times over the last 20 years and the roads have improved A LOT over these years, but there a still stretches that are really narrow and dangerous. One of the really dangerous ones will be replaced by a new 10km stretch of road in the autumn of 2025 (one year from now). But sadly the stretch from Fauske to Narvik (all the super-narrow tunneles (about 10 of them)) doesn't seem to be on any plans to fix (see the next video for a first hand view of the tunnels). Some of the tunnels are only 490cm wide and poorly lit.

No. Only from Trondheim to Stjørdal. There have been and will be some improvements done in the coming years. Believe it or not the foundation of some of the parts of E6 is from when the Germans left Norway in 1945.. It's about time something is done in one of the worlds richest country.

@@harared831 Absolutely: In a weird way (at least when it comes to infrastructure like roads and airports) the German invasion during ww2 could be viewed as a blessing for the northern parts of Norway.

@@harared831 I know. I've seen the plans several years ago. The Germans had planned the railroad all the way to Kirkenes from Mo I Rana. IF only ww2 had lasted 2 more years norhtern Norway could've taken part of the industrial revolution and there would've been much better chance for the the people living there to produce / transport things and tourism would've been a much more environmentally friendly business than the crusise ship based tourism we see today.
