The outside surface of the part does not seem to be angled. How do you ensure that the part is not stuck to the mold on injector/hopper side? I am not doubting that this will work in real life, but I don't know why it works without an angled surface in this case...

i don't understand where the air present in the mold before injections goes when the melted plastic fills it, i would love to know more about that. (if it works thanks to some microns sized vents does it shows on the final produsct and how are those metal molds made ?)

@MmmChipotle2 жыл бұрын
@@knoqx79 yes. Once the mold is under tonnage, also depending on the type of vent, there should be no flash or shorts by the vent. Just a parting line. We have metal tool shops at each plant that have cnc and edm equipment that design and create molds.

1:14 You didnt show how the molted plastic can even get past the head on the auger. You show the plastic having the magical properties of moving through solid objects
@jeffjeff8562 Жыл бұрын
I'm sure the head has ports through it and the ports are probably one-way type check valves. Or maybe the head itself is a spring-loaded one-way valve. This coming from a hydraulic engineer.
@eduardobackes8526 Жыл бұрын
Well noticed. The injection screw in this configuration does not allows the material to flow, it has to move back to allow the material to flow through the selling ring.

How does the melted product get passed the “non-return valve”, please? Great viddy, thank you for posting!
@solosogreedy4 жыл бұрын
The “non-return valve” has indentations or better known as flutes that the plastic squeezes through as the screw is turning. It is then pushed forward by the screw like a syringe to the mold and cooled.

We “bought” the tool when we made a run of 10k of a 1” x 1” plastic grinding pad to grind up weed. Each unit was .08 and they charged us $4500 for the tool. I want the grinder to be made in the US, how hard is it for them to ship the tool and then find an American manufacturer to use the tool to avoid another big charge.
@cloud-seven6 ай бұрын
you paid for a metal mold, this machine they likely already had, they can ship you the mold, useless without the machine

Very basic & not a satisfactory mould design as there are no return pins for the ejector plates. You should nor rely on springs except to shake the product off. Return pins (4 off) must touch the cavity plate to reset the ejector pins. in some cases it is necessary to add early return devices so ejector pins do not damage sliders i realise in your example there is not any sliders. MERRILEES MOULD DESIGN.
