I Bought a Box of "Salvage" Game Console Customer Returns! But Can I Fix Them?! I paid $650 for this box of customer returned electronics listed as "salvage." They could all be broken, some might not be what was advertised, hopefully some are pretty easy fixes. It's a fun collection of controllers and game consoles to take apart and see if I can get working.

@@Tronicsfix Thanks for all of the knowlege Steve. I really appreciate your videos. I was wondering if you know where I can find an OEM NES shell, specifically the top half. I repaired 2 NES consoles from my childhood, but the top shell is badly yellowed and cracked from me and my brothers giving them the beat down in our youth. I see a lot of interesting after-market shells, but they seem to all be $100 +. I was hoping you maybe had a decent (doesn't have to be perfect) OEM shell you'd be willing to part with. I'd go as high as $50 just for the top half. If not, no worries. I'm glad to see you're still making videos and are in good spirits. God Bless, and get well soon, my friend. ❤

Nice work! A tip for cleaning up sticky substances like pop, use water, not isopropyl alcohol. It's super easy to clean with water as it will dissolve it right away. On plastics it's easy to submerge and clean. For electronics I clean with cotton swabs and water first and then go over the area with cotton swabs and isopropyl alcohol. Last, I blast it with my DataVac to make sure there isn't any remaining liquid.

The inner rubber handle can be "fixed" by cutting them to better fit.. you have to cut all around it and trim maybe 1/16 an inch off everywhere that is lifted.. and now the harder part.. you have to use a 2 part glue with a cleaner/activator and the glue. Normal super glues will not work.. gorilla glue will not work.. I found a blue at my local ACE hardware that I forget the name of atm but it is a 2 part system.. So you trim the excess rubber to make it fit better.. use the cleaner/activator on the area to be glued then glue it all together.. wrap it in stretchy electrical tape to hold pressure on it for 24hrs.. then take tape off.. use a little rubbing alcohol to get any glue residue from the electrical take off.. then snap your sides back on.. what you will notice is that you now have a slight "bump" as the side rubbers will be slightly higher then the stuff you just cut and re glued.. so I took an exacto knife to kinda trim the thickness off at the edges where the 2 rubbers meet so there was not as big of a difference in height. I "fixed" my series 1 this way almost 2 years ago and its still holding on strong. The series 1 is a better controller by far as every series 2 thumb sticks will eventually have zero play in the center position so you have to actually move the stick a bit b4 the controller registers the movement. It happens on every series 2.. sometimes in a month.. sometimes in a few months.

The elite controller grip problem is widespread, and I’m amazed Microsoft didn’t get more grief for it considering how they were priced and marketed as being high quality controllers.
