With the escape the trunk technique, I find it funny how they assume you will be somewhere where you’re free once you’re out of the trunk. What if you’re in a locked garage or in someone’s walled off yard or anywhere else where more must be done to escape once you’re out of the trunk. People open the trunk when they’re AT their destination, not on an open street where you can run a away

That one about burning somebody who has you in a chokehold it's crap for another reason. Emotions like anger also come into play. For most people getting hurt makes them angry and for a lot of aggressive people anger only makes them more violent. So what happens if somebody is trying to choke you out and you burned them, only for it to make them squeeze tighter.

9:31 that's an actual self defence trick, but she does it wrong. Just like seth said, normally you're gonna fall, so you need to move your legs, get into a horse stance (a stance from karate, to those who dont know) and then you can do something similar to that. Of course, this mostly works if you have a weight adventage.

Yeah electric lighters are cool, they work better for cigarettes than trying to burn someone who’s already choked you unconscious but they’d still work better for that than the average lighter that doesn’t work outside

What gets me about that women's self defense is, "Make him let go, make him fall over... Uh confrontation over?" Mild inconvenience probably wouldn't deter a guy who randomly decides to choke you on the street.

I feel like if two or more people are tied up simultaneously by an assailant, you are probably either in a situation where the person has a gun, which is the more pressing danger, and is probably some form of robbery, or you are dealing with a serial killer who is probably way more prepared than simply worrying that you remained tied up. Or, you know, both.

16:30 Pulling the pinkies off actually works for chokeholds, they are forced to get their hands off or have their pinkies broken. Also you can easily break fingers even untrained. That's why small joint manipulation is banned in every combat sport.
