Maybe they are territorial on how the songs are used. I heard that one of Madonna's Employees had to fly to Europe and ask Benny Anderson & Bjorn Ulvaeus for permission to sample "Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie" for her Song Hung Up. They agreed but they were the lucky ones. Doesn't the Organ part remind you of "White Shade Of Pale" By Procol Harum.
@jimmyx26163 жыл бұрын
Too bad that Ra & Brian didn't have this song put into a movie or in a tv drama back in the 80s even ... it's still a timeless classic .! Used to hear it off & on AM stations (& AOR occasionally as a deep track ) , was amazed it didnt chart to Top 10 here in Canada ! Would be even great to use today ..
@allantaylor3563 жыл бұрын
I live a few miles from lead singer Ra McGuire
@reelkonversationswithryank49453 жыл бұрын
@@laminage - Procol Harum's organ melody for "A Whiter Shade of Pale" is based on "Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D Major" by Johann Sebastian Bach. So I believe that they were both based on the classical composition in the public domain, just like there are about 100 songs based on Pachabel's Canon in Dm.
@davidmckay37482 жыл бұрын
Actually, it has been. Trooper gave me permission to utilize this song in a novel I wrote called “Sydney’s Promise”. The song acts as an inanimate character throughout the prose and it provides a pathway to the climax at the end of the novel.

Bout 30 years ago I was at Halifax airport waiting to pick up a friend. Some guys were talking and horsing around 20 ft away. I watched them as they were funny. I suddenly recognized the lead singer of Trooper. He was the one having the most fun. TO THIS DAY I regret not summoning the courage to say hello. Fast forward 25 years. Trooper was doing an afternoon show at the CNE in Toronto. We were at the concert with our younger daughter (at the time she was 25) and she went head over heels for Trooper. What a grest show. Thx guys!

Mr. Edward: I'm a Detroit, MI native but Canadian musicians (especially Trooper) r the EPITOME of genuine musical style & talent. Thanks 2 a dirty tact6 called "Payola, the majority of Canadian musicians were wrongfully snubbed from achieving worldwide success (Trooper is living proof as such; likewise w/Prism (aside from "Don't Let Him Know"), the Ian Thomas Band (aside from "Painted Ladies"), Max Webster (featuring Kim Mitchell), & The Boomers (fronted by the a4mentioned & incomparable Ian Thomas; brother of Dave "Doug McKenzie" Thomas). Again, u can thank the COCKSUCKERS from the American Music Industry 4 the BLATANT DENIAL of most Canadian musicians from succeeding in the U.S.A. (we all know whom the xcptions r). Though I'm proud 2 b American-born, I'm.even more prouder & appreciative of Canadian musicians bc they all keep it REAL & KICK FUCKIN' ASS @ the same time.
