14:07 if that platform gives out and you fall that rope will break or desheath. You will be hurt very badly or die. This is the problem with the way most one stick. There is no need to remove your lineman's belt. You cold also tie in a prusik above your mechanical belay device.
@Bubakarrr6 ай бұрын
That's maybe 2 ft of slack. He would not be able to generate the amount of force needed to break the rope from falling. He might hurt himself on his stick though

I’ve been watching many review and demo’s of the Wingman. I made the purchase! Currently, making the one stick mod to my Wingman. I do have a couple additionally mods I would like to share. No YT channel though. I m pacing 2in shrink wrap around the post to help deaden the Cam noise. I notice the cam closing resonates from the hollow post. You could also use spray foam inside the post to achieve the same results. Second, adding an additional stand-off above the top stand off. Haven’t tested that yet. Hoping it will alleviate some of the movement. Novix sells the exact stand off for $11. I do have the EW standoffs shipped. Hopefully it works.

I bought into saddle hunting with other gear. Afterwards I bought a Summit mini climber SD. At 18 pounds it came in lighter than my Saddle set up. Later I got into an exercise program and now I go hiking with a 30 pound weight vest. At this point I feel like an Idiot. I spent a ton of money to be light weight and now im literally working my way up to hiking with heavier weight. Cool set up this Wingman though. If I ever buy anything else for saddle hunting it will be this.

That seems like a very light quick and easy set up. I would be wore plumb out by the time I did what you did….lol. I always used a climber as I felt safer being in one. I wore a hunter safety system vest with tether and wormed my way up to the height I wanted. Carrying the extra weight of my tree stand never bothered me. I don’t know if I could/would ever try a tree saddle type system, but you have yours really dialed in. Thank you for sharing. Have you ever watched the Hunting Beast Channel with Dan Infal? Very informative and he too hunts with a very minimalistic type tree stand that he actually makes and sells. Happy 4th of July Brian. God bless you and your family buddy. 👍🇺🇸

@@bkbowhunter1 awesome. Thanks again for sharing and season is just around the corner. I can’t wait as I am 130lbs lighter and it’s going to make being and walking in the deer woods more enjoyable this year. I had my gastric bypass surgery last year on December 7th and I always take the first and second week of deer season off every year. I only hunted a few hours the first day and didn’t go back out much that’s week or the second week as I couldn’t get focused on hunting with the surgery approaching. I can really start enjoying it now.

Man that's awesome. Thanks for sharing! I wish I would have known about the wingman a couple years ago when I bought my saddle and the predator platform. I like it and I do use the one stick climbing method with a lone wolf stick but this looks like a better platform and you don't have to worry about the stick. What do you have attached to the top of your wingman in order to pull it up when you're dangling from the saddle? I need something like that for my lone wolf stick. You mentioned making sure you don't drop your stick or your wingman. I'm not sure if you said it but I normally stay connected to my stick with a piece of paracord, in case I were to drop it. That would suck if it wasn't attached and it fell to the ground.

Thanks it’s a nite ize gear tie. I have the 24 inch one. I’ve never dropped it SO FAR 😂. The wingman makes a great 1-stick with some modifications. Thanks for watching niteize.com/gear-tie-reusable-rubber-twist-tie
