I know in my heart that the domesticated budgerigar is so intelligent that yours found its way to a good human!! Animals know to get help when in trouble or hungry! Our very first budgie girl was caught by hand by my husband after she appeared by our feet while we were out feeding fish bread crumbs off of a pier!! Amongst sparrow and zebra doves that were around us to collect fallen crumbs, she really stood out in her white wings and apple green and yellow feathers! He just crouched down and she ate some bread crumbs from his hand and with the other he gently but swiftly grabbed her!!! She is home with us for almost two years now along with a companion new baby blue boy budgie who are just perfect together! I know your baby is in a safe and warm loving home too🥰

Definitely someone's pet, he spoke some Italian and Japanese words Lol; right away he made himself at home. We had a big cat, 10 years old Maine Coon, he was very territorial and could never accept other cats, but somehow they became great friends; lucky could walk on his head, pick his ears and our cat just loved him. Birds can be kept alone since it's gonna see it's partner as part of his flock. Aslong theres somebody at home to keep the bird company. The reason it's fixed on the mirror is because it "sees a bird" doesn't mean anything.

@@Prislistrations That's not even remotely true. Educate yourself before you make comments like this. Birds are one of the most social animals on the entire planet and while some birds do fine solo, most parrots do not. In the case of budgies, you should always have two. We found a budgie at an outdoor baseball game. We loved him so much-a total doll. He passed from cancer but we will never forget him. Amazing, smart, gentle soul. We love you Chi.

Kind of similar to how my brother got his bird. She is almost pure yellow. The poor girl was huddling on the porch of our parnet's place in the cold evening. They tried to find if she had a owner but couldn't, so brother ended up adopting her. He name is Banana.

My budgie came to me in quite a similar way. My mum found him on the roof of her car and I took him. He loved people, mirrors and the shower. He was also a compulsive talker and did voices too. A gruff male voice and a sweet old lady voice. Such a sweetie.

He is not a tropical bird, he is a native Australian Budgerigar. A desert bird really, great pets that talk like crazy. Glad he is safe, he chose the right home

Once had a brightly colored non Australian parrot landed on our verandah. We fell in love with each other immediately for the first day he would not leave my shoulder and would nest in my hair. That night he slept in my hair but the next morning he started bighting me. It was actually a relief when our neighbor came to collect him. Living in Australia I adore parrots, so much and your little buggie is such a sweaty.

That is really adorable. My two lovebirds started chirping when they heard this cute little parakeet chirping. My birds love to hear other lovebirds on my phone. I am so glad he found such a nice family and is now safe and happy

All birds are a gift. It's so refreshing to see someone appreciate them like your family does. And see YOU get joy and as excited as that pretty bird does over certain treats u give him. And he is a boy. Good for you for knowing how to tell on parakeets anyway. Some birds u have to do bloodwork or wait till they just start laying eggs someday. That is a real shock when u find out a bird u have had for awhile...just drops an egg lol and u were calling "her" a "him" for half a yr or more. That happened to me as a small child a couple times with cocktails and lovebirds. I love how you love your new family member. And that is exactly what that bird is. He's not "just a bird" as so many ppl like to say. They have bigger personalities than some dogs &at times (lots of times depending on the breed especially) are as smart or even smarter. Ppl don't like hearing that when they don't "get birds". I'm a "dog person" thru and thru and I have no problem admitting how smart our birds were. We have just one now. We adopted a pidgeon. All white. He was getting attacked by several cats when someone rescued him. He has lots of PTSD. So even tho its been yrs...we are still taking it step by step. I can't imagine what he went thru. He was a domestic pidgeon. All white black eyes. Super gorgeous. Almost like a dove. But huge lol. He does get mad when we wake him on accident. He makes these noises like he's swearing at us under his breath lol. But we absolutely love him. The most we had was 6 birds at once. They all had their own homes and all got covered separately at nite. They behaved better in this way. Less fighting. Less stress. And more of them wanting to befriend us. They were not all the same breed anyway. But we loved hearing them all day. I can't imagine the world without birds in it. It would be so so awkwardly quiet outside. Like a store without their music when u can hear anyone sneeze or anything embarrassing they may accidentally do hahaha. Birds are absolutely amazing, smart, stunning and the world also needs them to control the bug population NATURALLY WITHOUT PESTICIDES. PESTICIDES are killing our birds and we must take action before we lose them all. Climate change as well but we can only help what we can control. Some things are over our heads unfortunately. Congratulations on being awesome humans and loving animals:)

I really hope you got him a partner or plan on getting one. They really shouldn't be kept alone. Rescues should honestly make sure they don't get adopted by them selfes or that the potential owner already owns one and is looking for an additional bird. But other than that I loved your story and he seems very happy and well socialized!

Sweden enforce this, I agree all should! Both birds should be kept in the same cage/space too, not in separate little cages where they can't have physical contact (I have 2 emotional basketcases that were kept like that, second one was acquired as company for the first, but they weren't put together, so still ended up really messed up emotionally :(( They're gradually getting better now though :)

Pfizer probably was very happy with his owners and he just happened to escape. Usually birds are not keen to open up to people that easily if they weren’t treated well.

That’s not “lucky” that they didn’t find his family. That’s tragic. Someone put their whole heart and soul into that bird and now he’s yours. As a rescuer, you should NEVER stop looking for his family. Don’t get me wrong, thank for for not turning him away and for keeping him safe but ….
@UnitedKingdom1009 ай бұрын
They did make efforts to find the bird's owner. Not everyone has ample time and money to "never" stop looking for a bird's owner. It's the owner that should be responsible enough to never stop looking for their bird.
@TheSunnySide16169 ай бұрын
That responsibility doesn't lie on them- they did their part by genuinely looking for the owner. The owner would be the one who would have to actively look for him if they genuinely wanted their bird back.
