I love this pond so much. It's Excellent and the fact that they can have that view from the house with those massive windows is the absolute cherry on top. Perfection!

Thank you. I agree it is an amazing pond that they have created and really the camera didn’t do it justice. It was a great source of inspiration.

Yes, yes, yes, please visit Joe's garden pond again and give us a longer tour and take about the plants he is using too. I just LOVE that pond. Be on the look out for old tree branches to use around your new pond. You can also DIY some rocks with cement and cardboard boxes. There are some great videos on youtube on how to do it.

It's funny, I went for a walk round some local woods last week, just to try to see what separates jungle from woodland (as much as you can in UK). My one big take away was re fallen logs, nature doesn't tidy, it takes over so seeing how they've used them was great. Thanks for the video as always..
@tikitropicals653 ай бұрын
Thank you. I always look at nature for inspiration and often take a walk around the lakes and woods near me. The only thing is nature sometimes puts things like fallen logs in the wrong place. We have the fortunate position that we can place or stage these features to create the look or feeling we like. Cheers.

That’s a stunning pond and your plan really looks perfect for your space. Keep a close eye on Marketplace for your materials there are some really excellent resources on there if you are patient waiting for the right stuff to appear. Good luck and can’t wait to see your progress.

@@tikitropicals65 You can use plants to filter the water. It would be cheaper than large filters and pumps. Check out this man's videos of his natural looking pond using plants to clean the water: A Refreshing Bath with my Fish: Aquaponics Pond Tour - KZbin - kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZiqqGd3rpKErKM

Your garden space, pre-changes, already looks stunning compared to mine, at the moment! 😂 maybe it’s the maturity of the plants, the variegated Fatsia. The tree ferns. The clean, empty space in the center. I think it looks great.

Joe’s pond is as incredible, as I’d expect from an aquascape contractor! The big thing is with your pond is do NOT skimp on the filters and pump. I’m sure Joe mentioned that as well. Flow rate, proper filtration including rock and gravel is what makes the water crystal clear all the time. (I loved your design btw, and the existing mature plants will be unbelievable once done but a bit of a PITA while building.) the only thing I’d say is to flip the waterfall from the corner of the buildings to the other side- visible from indoors and out, and keep the skimmer opposite of your waterfall. that pond looked ace, i can really see your idea looking great aswell! im also working on my large pond/ pool project currently as the ground has finally softened up, digging into clay is a night mare by hand haha. ive been using facebook market place for things like rocks and pond equipment, found loads of free rocks and other bits could hep for the budget for yours, my biggest cost has been the liner which was about 500 for an 18m x 12m one plus underlay. dont think id trust a second hand liner haha, all else though im after a bargain on haha.

Hello ! Avez-vous dessiné ce plan vous même ? Wouaw ! Bon dimanche !

Hi and a good question. To be honest I think they have done a fantastic job and I love the way it has a real natural feel but then has a contemporary bridge to tie it into the inside of their house. Lots of evergreen foliage to keep it interesting all year round. For me to make my version of this type of pond I’m hoping to go for the this very natural look with the rocks and logs but a few different plants to suit my space plus a wooden bridge to fit in with my theme. Cheers.

Hi. I agree it is a bit shady but I need to redo that area as the patio needs replacing and we sit down under gazebo a lot in summer so I feel it will be a great addition to that space. I will be removing some of the overhead leaves to let much more light in. Also I was filming it as it was getting dark. Cheers.
