REALLY? Thats crazy! I would ask what the soil is like, but i've moved mine at least five times and it has gone from wet clay to almost solid gravel, in blazing sun, and light shade. One year, it almost didn't come back, but it was the first spring i had it, so i figured it was just immature. Was yours the 'Gibraltar' variety? I've lost the regular thunbergii a couple of times, but the 'Gibraltar' is known for it's hardiness. Hmmm....
