Thank you. Thank you for doing all these videos. The gaited horse world needs more people like you who can break this down.

Man you did an excellent job. I’ve explained this many times to customers but your explanation was damn near PHD level. Good job! 🎉

Just discovered this, THANK YOU, helps me soooo much moving from dressage to gaited horses and trying to understand the "gaited" gaits. Look forward to your pacing one, and hope you have one that talks about the different types of gait speeds!

I really enjoy your videos. I am new to the gaited world as my granddaughter has a little saddlebred 25 yr old horse she shows at 4H. I have learned a lot! We are in the process of looking for a new gaited horse for her. Any suggestions?

We are trying to teach our green 6 year old registered Twh to gait, but she seems to like to trot more often.. what are good ways to train a gaited horse to gait? (Flat walk, running walk, and rack)

Hello! Trotty gait is similar biomechanicaly with fox trot, as I can see. It is like “broken” trot

My Morgan is a square trotter. I have been searching and searching to find a name for her gait. It’s very fast and so smooth. What is the proper name for a square trot? Is there a name for it? Her walk is very nice to but it’s not a running walk. I believe the only extra gait is this square trot. Thank you for your great explanation!!!!

A gaited horse has 1 hoof on the ground at all times, creating a smooth movement. You can drink a cup of tea off a gaited horse as it's moving. You should be able to shoot straight as well. Not kidding. Gaited horses are amazing

Travis, it seems to me that what you call "trotty" is in fact a fox trot, which is the only *diagonal* easy gait; in the fox trot, the front foot touches down a split second before the diagonal hind foot. I have spent years looking at videos and photographs of all sorts of horses doing the *hard trot* (i.e., the medium gait that all but the easy gait horses do), and I would swear on a stack of whatever books you want that in the hard trot, unless the horse is *really* on the forehand, the hind foot touches down a split second *before* the diagonal front foot. To me, your first horse is really on the forehand (going "downhill") and that is why those two diagonal feet hit the ground at the same time. I believe that photographs and slo-mo videos will bear me out on this aspect of gait.

TRAVIS...... 4 beat gait horses, such as the TWH, are their front hooves shaped differently by the farrier than the traditional trim, toe to heel angle on (example) a Quarter horse. My perception of view on the 'square' horse's front hoof, toe to heel degree of angle has me questioning this comparison of hoof. (I hope that I posed this thought correctly)

Where does the run walk fall in the scale. Is it a 4 beat gait or is it more pacey?

The swingy one reminds me of a sulky gait!!...no?.......watching a sulky seems to be the most “ not normal “ gait for any horse!!....it is restricted...I feel stressed out after watching it or a race!......mentally challenging for them!!........hate it... thank you!!

@@florentine_krgr you just have to work with the gaits and she will be fine ❤️
