Trotline Crabbing - THE WYE RIVER IS ON FIRE!

I remember crabbing the Wye back in early 80s, we would run 2 trot lines, 900 ft each w eel, make circles, we would start about 5am, and by 10am we would have 4 to 5 bushel of monster jimmys. Usually we would crab Kent narrows but the Wye was always special to me as a kid...

Was mostly crabbing for sport that day and to make a quick video as I did not think I'd catch many good, hard crabs just a bunch of sorta light ones which is what happened. It doesn't take long for them to harden up then someone else can catch em and have a higher quality crab.

@@Trotlining you are the man. Amazing reason and thanks for sharing. I’ve rented a boat at Schnaitmans a few times and gone out with my traps. Minimal success but I’ll try one more time next weekend. This is my second season crabbing. I’ll get a boat of my own in the off season. Really enjoy your videos. I’ve learned a lot !

It faired ok last year no serious issues I couldn't work out within a few hrs after getting there in a deep freeze with pumping the woodstove etc, the toilet froze on me once but thawed and all was good I definitely need to figure out some way to keep some heat on the pipes or something I am working on getting it figured out as I doubt I'll be as lucky this year as I was last

@@theothersideoftheboat I'm hoping to run a dc system from it so I'm not using all those watts just keeping a inverter running. I am designing a system now.
