I live just up the road and often fish there. It's a tricky river but I have some fantastic days since I was about 9. I'm now 38 and still regularly fish there. It's centrepin trotting heaven

Some friends and I have fished there once or twice a year for the last 15 years or so. I find the best chub swims are towards the downstream end below the big footbridge. There are quite a few overhanging trees and don’t disregard the far bank, probably the better bank for chub, albeit a bit of a walk.

Hi Jack, I have a few minnows in my aquarium. Very attractive and interesting little fish. People often don't appreciate the colours of native fish as you need to veiw them from the sides

Really liked this video first not on a commercial beautiful river and great enthusiasm for anything you catch big or small. Didn't see your list are gudgeon and ruffle on it? Used to catch them years ago. Is this video from 2023 or 2024?

I’ve fished the itchen my whole life, can’t tell where you are. But it’s become so private and stocked that it may as well be a lake at this point. (Excluding Mansbridge)
