@@AGrumpyCharizard yeah it was a bad choice of celebrations.

@@RensCollectibles I feel like while it definitely is known by adults most likely, it probably was an overreaction to boot him. Like it still seemed subtle enough to not be that out of hand

@@AGrumpyCharizard honestly I thought they were going to give him a warning or a two prize penalty starting the next round. A match loss was crazy.

I don't follow Pokemon's competitive scene typically so thanks for giving this breakdown! Pokemon is a family friendly brand so I can understand why they made the decision they did. It was likely muscle memory type of celebration he did with his homies but there's definitely a higher standard to uphold especially in the Worlds.

@Peeweez0 I agree, it shouldn't have been done and something needed to happen. I just think that the path they chose was the wrong one though.

This is just a wild event. pokemon was overreacting with the match loss but ian was really dumb to do this

@@WardieDawg he should have forfeited the next match

@@WardieDawg yeah, it's bad no matter what. But a strong overraction by Pokemon imo.

@@LorcanaDude17 see that's what I said, make him forfeit the next match. Because now we have someone who lost, somehow as the champion.
