Yes, it is finally here Ace's episode on Sourdough Pancakes. We have done our recipes by grams since it is the most accurate. I hope you will try our recipe after many trials to find a pancake that is nice and fluffy. Please see the recipe below..
Pancakes, Sourdough Discard 2024
In a medium sized bowl blend together the dry ingredients. Blend very well to distribute the baking soda and baking powder evenly throughout mixture. Set aside.
285 grams Flour, Unbleached all-purpose
4 grams (or 1 tsp) Baking SODA
7 grams (or 2 tsp) Baking POWDER
16 grams Sugar Substitute or 2 Tablespoons White Sugar
3 grams (or 1 tsp) Salt
In a second bowl mix together your wet ingredients and stir to combine.
395 grams Milk of Choice, we use oat milk
190 grams Sourdough starter discard
2 Eggs, beaten
20 grams Oil of choice
Add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients bowl and mix thoroughly. Heat up frying pan or griddle and coat with 1 tablespoon of oil. When frying pan is ready drop the batter by the ice-cream scoop full or 1/3 cup onto heated surface.
Cook pancakes for 4 minutes on first side until bubbles have come through surface and they are lightly brown around the bottom edges of the pancake. Then flip to cook on second side for about 3 more minutes.
Serve with your favourite syrup or toppings of choice. Enjoy.
Optional Inclusions: You may wish to add fresh fruit of choice or chocolate chips to the batter. We add blueberries, raspberries, chocolate chips, etc.
