I tow a microlite TR7 twist and am forced to hold a press conference at every gas station. When you try to cover 749 miles in a day it can sometimes turn a 13 hour ride into a 16 hour ride. People love the idea of glamping.

I really enjoyed your video. My wife and I have been riding over 40 years and have seen most of the eastern half on the country on two wheels. Milwaukee is the farthest we have ridden from South Carolina. I have always wanted to do what you are doing and ride the western part of the country. Now that we are older and not in the best shape, that dream has pretty much gone. We just traded in our two wheel Heritage for a new Tri Glide as of this past May 2021. We used to have a trailer for camping and did most of our camping in the Blue Ridge mountains. Life goes by so quickly. You guy's are living the dream. Jan and Jerry. Irmo, South Carolina.

What a crazy time for you on the road. I am glad that none of your problems were serious. I am sooo ready to go back out and explore more. Now that I have gotten my first big trip under my belt. I know more of what I can and can't do...should have and really didn't need to have... The big lesson though is staying home is now just an option instead of my destination.. Thank you again for all of your personal encouragement to me and for your informative and fun videos about what life on the road has to offer.

The one thing I have learned on the road is if you push it farther one day than is comfortable you pay for it the next day. Especially on a multi-day trip. I have years ago put as much as 900 miles in a day but it was going home and didn't have to set up a camp when I got home. To me it is amazing the difference between southern Idaho and northern Idaho. Rode up to Salmon ID years ago to visit friends beautiful ride. Another great ride is 212 over Bear tooth Pass to Belle Fourche WY. Great video and excellent vibe.

If you happen to be traveling by yourself with a trailer and can't quite reach with the air compressor to the trailer tires, just turn a corner towards that side, the trailer tires become a bit closer to the power plug and it should reach in your situation. Think of it as a triangle, the sharper angle while keeping the 2 sides the same length makes the 3rd side shorter.
@TwoWheelsBigLife3 жыл бұрын
Great tip. Glad we had Chris’s bike.

Or get something like this portable battery powered pump. Really simple and quick. It will do a couple of motorcycle tyres and so should easily top up a trailer tyre. Some also act as battery packs if you're desperate for power. I have a cycplus A3 I carry. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5rToXeqoqhrmcU

Richard think about a small Scissor Jack with some small 4x4 inch blocks. You can level trailer or raise to change tire. Also if kept on bike for some of the places you ride if you lay bike down put it under foot peg to lift and save your back. Use a screwdriver or bolt as crank handle and makes a very small package
@TwoWheelsBigLife3 жыл бұрын
Actually the stabilizer jacks will lift the tire off the ground.

Here's another air compressor tip: Make sure it works before you leave. I hadn't used mine in two years and the piston ring dried out. When I tried to use the pump, it let air out of the tire! And yes, the wire on the new pump was not long enough. I spiced in another foot of wire from the old pump.

Chris, like you I get bad elbow pain after a long day riding. I started with the rocker that you showed. I hope it works for you. I had to go further. I added Grip puppies to my GS. That was a cheap $12 Amazon buy. It helps, but I also bit the bullet and bought a true throttle lock so I could take my hand off the grip for a while. Those two items made a big improvement. Add a proactive dose of Aleve and I’m good to go for a Saddle Sore 1000.

Riding in the rain.... I can relate. In 2016, I was on my way from Atlanta to Peoria, Il. A few miles outside of Paducah it began to rain. At first it was a summer thunderstorm down pour. That lasted for about a half hour. Then steady rain, off and on till I got about ten miles south of Springfield, Il. Then from there till I rode nearly all the way to Peoria, it POURED DOWN. My rain suit kept me dry, for a while. Probably until the vents couldn't keep the deluge back. Riding at interstate speed in a downpour for 80 miles, there's probably only so much a suit can do. Plus there was quite a lot of standing water on I-155, truck traffic spray, you name it. My waterproof boots had gotten some water down in them also. The temperature outside had dropped down into the upper 70's, and as you know, the wind chill factor starts to be felt. By the time I reached destination, sisters house, I was chilled to the bone. I was just wet enough to be cold, but not soaked. Nothing that a few snorts couldn't fix.
