Another point of interest, kids, don't ride in people's blindspots. It's quite easy to avoid. If you are driving diagonally to another vehicle, you are in their blindspot. If you are in the slower lane, back off; if you are in the faster lane, overtake or backoff and cancel the overtake. It's not hard and it will save your life. Furthermore, don't challenge vans, trucks or buses, period.

I looked up the Texas lane splitting law because I didn't know. Texas law and Ohio are are the exact same. Here is a C&P of the Current legal Status of lane Splitting(which is the same as Ohio) "There are some circumstances in which a motorcyclist may be allowed to split lanes. @@SacramaniacCc He was going the flow of traffic. You were breaking the law and riding like a moron. Lane splitting at highway speed is not legal, exactly because of situations like this. In the time it took him to look in his mirror and check his blind spot, you went from being several cars back to right on top of him. Even a careful driver would be likely to miss you. Also, if you hit someone, even if you don't think there was any damage, you stop. You don't just ride off like a fucking tool. Keep riding like this, and you will end up as a red stain and another statistic.

So is it best for bikers to sit in someone’s blind spot? Especially on vans and trucks? I know they’re supposed to be aware but if you know people aren’t the best at seeing you in their blind spot why would you sit there. Wouldn’t you put yourself in a spot where they can see you for sure?
