I have had a terrible time with electronic locks on safes, cant tell you how many I have replaced through the manufacturer warranty. Funny enough its not the part with the buttons and the battery that goes out but the part inside the safe door that attaches to the key pad that always breaks.

Good video. That safe has a wife gap around the door. With all the pry tools available I wouldn't consider purchasing a safe with a large gap around the door. Thanks 👍🙏

There are better ones out there but it’s priced pretty fair.

lithium or alkaline don't make any difference, as long as the voltage output is the same

Feel free to use them if you’d like. We’ve just had issues with them in the past so I recommend alkaline.

@@parkerssafes Lithium batteries are superior to Alkaline, in the sense they last 10-20 years vs 2-3; problem is sometimes they can have a more powerful voltage outup, if the voltage output is different this can cause problems. But other than that there is no really reason to avoid Lithium Batteries, they are used in much more sophisticaed elettronics they are highly realiable.

@@bingcrosby1378 fwiw. A good friend of mine who's a Professional Safecracker also says that only alkaline should be used. It has to do with way the circuitry reads the voltage not necessarily the actual voltage level. Something to do with sine waves or the like. It went over my head pretty fast. ha.

@@parkerssafes seems pretty weird to me, the lock has no ability to know where the power comes from (at least the ones i have looked into), for a paradox you could attach it to a solar panel or a dynamo and it would work as long as the input voltage is correct.
