Troubleshooting my Fog Lights

So I watched this video, and I ran out and got a DIODE… AND THIS WORKED!! I can’t believe it… I was skeptical but now I’m a believer! Thank you.

i remember these DRLs from factory only activate when car is in Drive. and its day outside

Thanks. Why the diode if you replaced relays? The old fog lights were not working so it’s seems not to be the led conversion. Just wondering before I give it a shot.

You’re welcome Neither the relays nor LED lights would activate the fog lights, the diode was the only option that fixed the issue.

Hi my friend I'm pretty sure some of your relays are backwards. You might want to check that. On you fuse box cover it will show you what numbers go where. I had the same issue with the drl not coming on so I did this mode thanks to you and realized the issue there. Cheers hope this helps someone.

OK, I figured this out. My front parking lights were changed to LED and that made the draw too much for the marker lights. I changed it out and these marker lights work great! Just a heads up for anyone whom might be experiencing the same issue. I saw these were tied into the same wiring connection and same fuse box location. SMH. I should have seen this a long time ago..

Were the diodds expensive,and did you buy the diodds online if not where. I miss radio shack

So do I, Radio Shack was the spot. The diodes weren’t that expensive, I ordered it from Amazon that came with about 20 diodes.

k so you managed to fix your fog light problem but at the same time discovered a hack to let the DRLs sync with the headlights so they can run simultaneously together..... Nice. So is this safe?

@@newtouchauto Quite hesitant. For a second it almost looked like you blew your headlights out when you turned the lights on at 7:32 lol What happens during the day? Does it work like it should without the mod? Being that the DRL should be the only lights on during the day... or does it always require your headlights to be turned on to activate the DRL from now?

@@JoHn-if6wy lol no I didn’t blow any lights, the video was in fast forward mode during that clip. I actually can active the settings how I want them to be wether it’s fogs only or both on at the same time. During the day I mostly cut them off at the controls to save the life of the lights.

@@newtouchauto Im about to try it once i receive the diode by the mail. What is the reason behind removing the x2 10 fuses? Looking forward to seeing how its going to work since i live in Canada. As under page 3-16 under the manual at "Automatic Headlamp System" it says "Turning off the automatic headlamp system with the headlamp switch is not available for vehicles first sold in Canada." So i only have 1. Auto 2. Parking lamps 3. Headlamps The off is disabled in Canada lol. So im wondering if only my DRL are going to come on during the day time while the switch is on AUTO or even come on at all. How does it look for you?

@@JoHn-if6wy the fuses were removed to avoid damaging the breaker box, this way the battery cables can stay connected. You don’t wanna risk having to replace the entire box bc of an overload. Once you’ve completed the diode install your lights will definitely run during the day, I don’t think the H2‘s in Canada will have a different setup vs the US models. One key thing to remember, make sure that you place the diode in the correct position. I show an arrow to the direction the line on the diode should be, good luck and hopefully your install is a success.
