Hi CryptoDad, do you recommend having a 2nd Nano X with a backup of your cold wallet? If so, do you have a video on how to create a backup Nano X?

Sure do. And yes, I recommend it. Always good to have a working backup ready to go in case of issues. I can't even get to the point where it says to export public key. when I click to pair hardware wallet device it tells me to put in my pin to unlock my hw wallet (which i do) and it says "waiting for commands" on my ledger.... and this is it. nothing ever changes, nothing to click on. so annoyed and no idea what to do about this.

Daedalus wallet is a joke. So very slow. I withdraw some ada from binance to daedalus. It took 24 hrs to get the transaction approved in binance and up to now no Ada in my daedalus wallet. Pure hype as ethereum killer.

Good video, thanks for this one. Did you ever try the Yoroi wallet? If so, what did you think? It's not a full node so it's lighter, but was wondering how well it works as a bridge to the nano-x?

I actually use Daedalus, Yoroi, and Adalite.io to manage the ADA that I have stored on my ledger nano X. All three of them have their advantages and disadvantages. I like to be flexible

my issue is the Daedalus mainnet won't quit and its unresponding. it won't let me open the application but it won't let me quit the application. I use Mac and force quit won't work either

Hi. I appreciate your assistance with this matter. Soooo, while deleting the daedalus mainnet file I also found another daedalus file and deleted it. It was 1.85 GB with over 838 k files, I was quite surprised to have this amount of data downloaded to my PC. I am going to reinstall Daedalus, but must say this has shaken my belief in ADA. I do not appreciate being highjacked in this manner, makes me feel somewhat violated, as a surrogate data holder.... that is an enormous amount of data? It has taken me over 45 minutes just to delete this amount. Hoping this will speed up the download on the next go-around, as I tried for over 24 hours to install and get my wallet back up, yikes. So do I need to run the mainnet on my PC if I start using a Yoroi wallet? would like to delete the mainnet from my computer entirely. Your input would be appreciated. Daedalus is a node it is supposed to be big. You are contributing to the network by installing and running it. If it is too big, use a Yoroi wallet.

I believe the file is that big because it is storing a copy of the entire chain on your pc, just like on everyone else's machine. Just a guess. Not 100% positive. Look into it. Gl

@@davidcue1 On your Mac, Open the finder window and click “Go” ( at the top of the screen next to File, Edit, View) and you’ll get a drop down. Press Option and you will see Library will appear. Click on Library then Application support and you’ll see the Daedalus Mainnet folder there

Not that I want to, but it bugs me you can’t unstake from a pool, just restate to another….. using a connected ledger nano x…. Can you help please dad?

Hmmm… I don’t believe I’ve ever actually tried to simply unstake. However when you withdraw, it will automatically unstake. You might try just simply creating a new empty wallet and then transferring everything into it. I know that’s a pain but it is a workaround. I will look into this later and see if I can figure out how to unstake without restaking.

Hi, daedalus is on my E drive but it seems to be putting the updates to my C drive SSD which is full and has windows on it, as I see the MB space needed go down as I delete stuff on my windows C drive, how do you allocate updates to go to my E folder where my daedalus is located? Also I am replacing my C drive windows SSD with a new 1TB harddrive will this mess up the updates if I wipe my C drive? daedalus is located on E drive but updates to C drive. Thanks!!

Yes, crypto is always stored on the blockchain. Ur ledger just holds ur private key to be able to send ur coins elsewhere. If you have your private key, ur like 25 words, you will always be able to access them on any device with any wallet. be careful, there are a lot of scammers trying to gain access to ur private key through phishing websites etc..
