nice fish guys! i fish emerald lake alot and i find way to avoid all the weed is when you cast your worm/powerbait/mussle just leave the line slack and set it on the rod holder just wait for the line to go tight and there will be a trout on it, this avoids your sinker catching all the week when you reel it in. when its got no tension on it they just eat the hook and start swimming off with it. I have eaten some trout out of emerald lake aswell, there pretty good eating but i find they arnt as nice as a natural creek caught trout in flowing waters, so i usually just chuck themback for next time.

Thanks for the tips, Glen. Much appreciated. Yes, we have always found the stocked trout are not as tasty as wild caught. Saying that, we cooked these up, in butter with salt and pepper, and were pretty good 👍
