Asian here, I also got judge by trout fisherman for using a baitcaster for trout (and bfs). They stopped giving me me crap when i hooked up a 4lbs rainbow and a 20in browns on it

awesome! when i did bfs like a few years back.. i got ridiculed like those who bring saltwater gears to trout opening day. but when the clock hits the dot and it's time to fish. i get my limit minus 1, and i keep fishing for hours and releasing back. They practically wanted to kick me out cuz i keep hooking em and putting em back in LOL

Nice session mate. I bet they were thinking “that Asian guy will take them all”. Haha it’s a common generalisation in Australia that asians keep them. I found most asians put them back 😂

That generalization is really just bad fishermen getting frustrated because they can't catch anything, however it is not wrong. I have plenty of friends that refuse to bass fish with me because I catch and release those species. It really depends on how people grow up. Some have a survivors mentality where all fish are food and some go for sport. Another big one is no one wants to put money and effort to comeback with nothing, which I get. People also like to make it a race thing but really a typical fisherman regardless of race will keep fish. I find it more interesting to see what they tend to keep more of. Asian people do tend to keep everything which is why they get such a bad rep. White people love to keep panfish and walleyes. Black people love to keep catfish, panfish, and surprisingly buffalo. All of this is based of my years of fishing where I'm from.

@@rawrfishing Up in WI asians get a bad rep because they do tend to keep everything in massive amounts. Mainly the white bass as people come with coolers. Though come walleye season and the people who usually makes snarky comments adopts the asian habits as well lol. However me being asian myself I do not get mad when people make such comments because deep down its true. There are honey holes that I refuse to take some of my buddies to because I know damn well they will be back with buddies to clean out that spot. A lot of the white bass ends up freezer burnt and they keep so much that by the time next season comes they still have a freezer full which they just give away or throw away...

that is insane, culture is different. they need to learn that we got plenty of food these days, no need to over stock as they will go bad! the waste would thin out the natural resources and next year, less fish as there isn't enough to reproduce. We have bucket brigades of all races her in the east coast as it's a melting pot. they exist! heck i have ghetto folks taking bedding bass illegally in a nasty ghetto pond that often got dead bodies in it, cars pushed into it and many more nasty dumping. but... ppl wanna eat!
