Trout fishing with worms is one of the best ways to catch any species of trout. Nightcrawlers are usually the worm of choice when targeting rainbow trout or any other trout for that matter. Trout fishing with bobber and worms in lakes or ponds is pretty simple to do. All you need is a basic spinning setup, a bobber, hooks, and some nightcrawlers or mealworms. In this video Addicted Guide Jordan Knigge talks about the entire trout fishing setup. Jordan shows you how to rig the bobber and worm setup and how to be successful when trout fishing with the worms. If your interested in getting out trout fishing at all feel free to message us and we can get you link up with Addicted Guide Jordan Knigge. Jordan can actually get you out on the water to do some trout fishing with worms and bobbers and many other techniques.

Well I think he missed one thing.. You're not supposed to show any fish out there your hook point and a menacing barb next to your bait worm. He was supposed to hide the hook point inside of the worm's body, not showing it. Fish still have eyes and brains, and some individuals are downright smart and very inquisitive! Especially those fish individuals who had a previous traumatic experience getting hooked before by a fisherman and they eventually released em. I do agree with the rest of his setup demo like setting up a round bobber, basic fishing knots, split shot weight ets.. I just don't agree with his poor presentation with a hook point & barb that's sticking right out like a sore thumb for every fish to see in that lake. You might as well be scaring off a lot of fish in that lake than attracting them with type of presentation.

I started to give you a thumbs down but changed it because I don’t dislike you or your comment, I just disagree with it! If I wanted to watch them fish, then I have too much time on my hands when I could be fishing!😜 really though, I seek out Information all the time and get so annoyed when I get a piece of it, and then have to wait through watching them fish or tell a story, or rattle off a list of other options that just confuse me. I want direct and want to be able to see it clear and up close. To the point. I like to watch them fish when I am looking for it. And I do… but, I end up watching a lot of 1/2 watched videos because I become lost, or bored, or can’t see what they are talking about. I only share my two sense because I don’t want him to start doing that. I plan on coming back for more advice. That’s why I don’t keep my opinion to myself.

I grew up in FL fishing and enjoy the trout videos which is a new fish for me since moving near N. GA mts. I unexpectedly learned a better way to rig a bobber and worm from how we “used to do it”. Threading a small piece of worm on the hook shaft seems a great idea to try. Thanks for excellent content.

Taylor Abrego stocked trout don’t fight as hard as wild trout but there smart and will run you into trees and with the 10 pound you give them that muscle to stop them from running you into the tree

Glad I found your video! Finally a video that teaches basic live bait pole setup. I've been trying to find a video like this for a couple of days and most of them were using fishing lingo that I never heard of. Mostly for pros. I'm not pro by no means at all. As of matter of fact, I haven't been fishing in about 3 years because of frustration of not catching fish. I actually didn't know that you had to tie both ends of the bobber...LOL. You get a like from me on this one!

Definately old school. The bobbers I use have changed, but the general rig is the same. Round bouy bobbers gave way to more streamlined floats by Aero or Thill, downsized versions of those I use when steelheading. The tall, thin floats or quill style floats give less resistance to the fish and better bite detection for light biters. But I still use small shot to balance the float, and either a micro jig, a fly, or a worm (usually soft plastic these days) - and that Celilo is a great inexpensive rod. I have owned a bunch of them over the years. My son broke my last one. My favorite is the 7'6" light power for 4-10lb line. I paired mine with a Shimano Sienna reel and 4lb Trilene most of the time.

I like that you guys are doing some videos on trout! I hope to see an episode on some broodstock trout here in Central Oregon or maybe some Mackinaws! I only use 4-6 fluorocarbon for BAIT when fishing for trout, and then I use 10 fluorocarbon or 6-8 pound monofilament when using LURES for trout. Oh! and I prefer using legit bobber setups instead of the old school red and white ones, after I learned the sliding bobber setup I have not looked back

You can also do a bottom rig where you tie a bell sinker about 12 to 18 inches above the hook. Inflate the worm using a syringe or worm blower to make it float. Be careful that you don't cause the worm to burst open. We did this drift fishing the North Fork in Arkansas.

Caught two trout on a lake yesterday using bobbers. I used half a worm hooked in the middle so that it would wiggle more as it slowly sank. I also used no split shots. The trout both struck after the bobbers had been out awhile, so I'm not sure how much the worm slowly falling mattered to them. Some small bass that I watched when testing in the shallows loved the slow fall tho.

Good video. Used this method all my life. Couple of recommendations... 1) Use removable split-shot instead; easier to adjust your depth/weight needs. 2) I've used Eagle Claw hooks all my life, never missed with them. 3) You don't always need a bobber, especially in windy conditions. You do equally as well. Fish on sir!
