TROUT MAGNET FISHING SAVED THE DAY

Trout magnets continue to confuse me and amaze me when they work and don't work. This thing absolutely saved the day when all else failed under this spillway.
I planned to put some trout on the fly rod and the spinning lures. After hours of trying both nothing seemed to work until I jigged the ol trout magnet along the bottom.

Trout magnet jigs and crappie magnet jigs tipped with watermelon pearl 1inch gulp minnows or real minnows are fish catching machines....It's all we use. (Including trout magnet chartreuse lures, blue speckled, and sometimes white. ) We hammer crappies, perch bass, walleye, pike and pickerel. As well as other species. Hook strength is the only issue we have occasionally. 👍 They also work great for trout as well.

These things catch fish but they’re terrible quality and the hooks snap off very easily

Try a Mepps #1 Silver Blade.

Panther Martins catch more trout. The spinner blade attached directly on the main lure wire creates more of a thump and somehow also deflect the entire lure off potential snags better than spinners where the blade is attached with a separate wire loop.
