I am 50 years old and decided to try to learn how to fish. I started watching your videos and I have a lake close by so I started fishing for trout a couple of weeks ago. The first time out, no bites. Second time I got a fish to the kayak but realized I had no idea how to get him in the net. But today I caught six fish! I let a few go but I took home a couple of really nice rainbows! I also lost a couple because I didn’t change the hook on my wedding ring against Jordan’s advice! I just wanted to say thanks I am an addict and I am learning how to fish!

Good video, nice lake. I have found over the years that large bladed gang trolls don't work any better than mini trolls. The smaller trolls pull much easier and don't twist the line. The large gang trolls from my childhood with sensational colorful names were made to lure the fisherman.

I'm brand new to freshwater fishing and have subscribed to your tutorials. You guys are doing a great job instructing clearly. the videos have been very helpful in helping me get started. You may want to consider putting together a small starter kit of the lures, beads, stoppers, bobbers, and whatever else you deem necessary, that also has a recommendation list for lines, weights, power bait, scent, etc for people like me. I would have bought such a kit.

Great content! I just bought a kayak and one of my plans is to slay some trout. Already slaying stripers throughout the Bay Area in California. I’m loving my Old town 120 autopilot. Thanks for the video.

Wish you would have detailed fishing plugs and what weights you prefer in the Kastmasters

THAT'S WHAT THOSE HOLES ARE FOR ON THAT RUDDER! I never knew! I use/prefer bigger plugs like Super Duppers, Rapalas, Flat Fish, size 50/70 Hot Shots for trout. I get good fish those set-ups

My "Go To" set of lures are: 1)Hot Pink Super Duper, 2) Hot Pink Triple Teaser, 3) Black and Silver Rapala, & 4) Hot Pink/Orange/Candy Apple Red/Silver #50 or #70 HotShot. For the most part, I usually don't use anything else except for a Rooster Tail. Hope this helps

Great video. I use very similar tactics (modified slightly) for summer time brook trout fishing with small weighted lake trolls. I began using small linecounter reels and trolling rods designed for kokanee fishing and found it works excellent, especially for slowly metering out line.

My father in law taught me how to fish with pop gear. I never thought it would work. I’ve been fishing for 34 years. I will never fish a lake any other way. I slay every time. Nice video.

Hey, new to trolling and just stumbled across this video. How much line do you recommend having on a reel for trolling? Thanks.

BG Lake, I think my buddy and I were there a week prior. Everybody that was catching anything was hitting them deep, we caught nothing...

I like how you still keep the “secrets” hidden such as rig, line, set up, etc. Just enough to keep morons to watch your videos and STILL won’t give “setups” away. I see what you did there Mr. click bait

Michael Homer the fish we’re super deep the day we filmed this. We only hooked a couple trolling and unfortunately didn’t capture them on film. This day the trout wanted power eggs suspended just off the bottom in 30+ feet. Some days they want it trolled in the first 2-15 feet of the water column. These techniques work, which is why we teach them. Thanks for tuning in, see ya on the water!!
