Matt, have you considered Creating a paper template to include with your “set up” to make mounting distances between components standard? Realize walls and utilities differ, but it might be a help for the guy who isn’t as handy. Just a thought 👍🏻

I don't think the template will work for most situations.
@Aepek6 жыл бұрын
it's a good idea, but as each install is a custom setup, creating a template wouldn't work.....this is what Matt was saying guys. The install at this place isn't going to be the necessarily the same install at your house etc etc etc.....

This is form over function to the Nth degree. Bolt a sheet of stainless laminated plywood to the studs and call it a day. You'd have less shear stress, too. The stainless backing would tie it all together and make it look like a true system. Daring to do this again by spending hours twiddling with drywall and guessing where the stringers are is clinically insane. Long term durability to the sheetrock is going to be a disaster. HOWEVER, all the respect in the world for showing the process and experimenting. I genuinely mean that. Now pardon me while I wrestle my Sun Joe out and spend 20 minutes setting up a wash when all you guys have to do is turn a knob and hit a switch.
@ObsessedGarage6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I'm thinking longer-term, I'd have an integrated solution that would fit directly onto a wall mounted plate. A follower has been designing a solution with me.

That's sick. That's why we watch! To think: how fast things have evolved, I know you won't stop mired in even a trace of mediocrity. Takes big cajones to show the alpha and beta of anything.

I know Matt commented not wanting a board on the outside but I think a 2x4’ ply wood or even pressure treated plywood would be better. Paint it same color. Would provide easier, better mount. Also help keep hose and parts from hitting wallboard. Industrial look not looking like I mounted a hose in my living room. That wall will have marks all over it.
@ObsessedGarage6 жыл бұрын
This looks much better.
@kyledrexler77496 жыл бұрын
For sure. Plywood with a big layer of stainless on top would look sick and be way more durable/water-resistant. They think this stuff is wall art, though.

Guys sorry for all of the drywall issues, but so thankful that you were able to do this installation to give us guys a good inside look of what all is involved with hanging the components and consider bracing/stud distances between each one.
