Typically when you install something like this on the wall you use a backer board like plywood. You mount it all equipment on that board and the hang that on the wall. The backer board will be wider than 16" so you just screw it directly into the studs. No drywall work or extra studs required. You can also take the whole thing down if needed. Good job!

J H was thinking the same thing. They did more work than they needed to and it would’ve looked the same if they painted the plywood

Nice setup for sure. You might consider looking into using "Shark bite" fittings for your plumbing pipes. They are almost fool proof plumbing connectors, also pipe dope will stop your joint leaks. I use teflon tape and pipe dope on all my threaded joints, guaranteed no leaks the first time every time. You will enjoy that setup for sure, thanks for sharing Buddy.
@dlove1186 жыл бұрын
This whole set up is really clean but i agree sharkbite and pex is definitly the way to go now. That would have made the plumbing much easier.

Kudos for creating a simple one stop shop package for the professional and hobbyist alike. However this result can be achieved much cheaper purchasing items independently and give the ability to use copper fittings. With the Sheetrock down then plumbing could have been concealed inside resulting in an even cleaner look.

not sure why anyone would say you would get mold, as long as the walls were made like a bathroom with mold resistant drywall and bathroom grade paint. as well you have sufficient slope or are squeegeeing up after, as well as proper air circulation after the detailing is done so any left over moisture in the garage can be put outside kinda like a bathroom fan. then you are fine. maybe use some silicone caulking (clear) on the baseboards/trim top and bottom to stop water from getting behind.
@osofast18stang546 жыл бұрын
Leonard Martin your bathroom get steam and moisture and the occasional splash over, why don’t you go grab a pressure washer and hit your bathroom once a week for a month or two and let me know how you make out. Without proper ventilation exhausting residual moisture after use and a floor drain for the water to flow the walls properly treated to be sealed 100% from moisture penetration there will be mold.maybe a 1yr from now depending on how much that gets used in the garage. The smart thing would be to back out do your wash just outside of the interior and then pull it back in for drying and detail.
@davetheflave25706 жыл бұрын
It is designed to be used outside, hints the 100 foot hose, I don’t think he is going to be spraying that in his garage and getting all those tools wet in the background. And bathroom walls are exposed to moister from hot showers for years and years without mold Appearing, even with a fan you will still have moisture. Paint is a sealer to and extent for surface moisture, not good for direct water contact over and over such as trying to wash your walls with a hose which is just silly but the paint used is designed to create a barrier.
@lifeofabachelor85476 жыл бұрын
Gary Anderson lol actually i have a shower with 12 jets so trust me every inch is covered in water except maybe the top foot and the ceiling. also i have a similar system as to this one in my 3 gar garage and i use it all the time no problems. he does have a a/c unit installed in the garage that would help with moisture in the air. not to mention he has used bathroom grade drywall and paint. and i dont think he will be spraying the walls with the pressure washer.
@lifeofabachelor85476 жыл бұрын
no it is a walk in shower. the floor is fully tiled and is sloped for drainage. note his garage is also sloped for drainage as most are so water dont come in when it rains.

Looks great Troy. Im just curious what your TDS is on your tap water before it hits the DI system? my company uses a very similar system almost exact to be honest for window washing. If your total dissolved solids coming from your tap water are too high you will find yourself going through a new resin filter once a month if not sooner. This is a necessity for spot free cleaning.

second mistake you're making...dont ever run the unfiltered water thru your pressure washer and hose....the minerals will leave their residue in the pressure washer and hose and defeat the purpose of the filters, you will recontamination the water that has been filtered and it will leave mineral deposits bc the filtered water then runs thru the same hose and pressure washer than unfiltered water has been thru...it does this AFTER leaving the filter..use a separate pressure washer and separate hose for unfiltered water and use this pressure washer ONLY FOR WATER THATS BEEN FILTERED!!!!
@realtormail16 жыл бұрын
that's not how it works.....give it a few times...you'll see I'm right...you're contaminating your system. you need to have a dedicated hose and pressure washer for filtered water...your are defeating your purpose...I hate you spent so much time and money to not accomplish what should be accomplished lol..looks pretty but its plumbed wrong...its not over thinking...its common sense...trust me...a couple of months you will be re doing it... looking fw to the video showing that.
@HJ-zr8zy6 жыл бұрын
Why wouldnt you always want to filter the water?
@realtormail16 жыл бұрын
the more water you run for thru it the less life you have out of the filters, they are kinda pricey to replace so you want them to last as long as possible....The only purpose in using it is for final rinse so it wont leave any water spots...as far as doing the "washing and cleaning" just regular water is fine...just use the CR SPOTLESS for final rinse and wash off...so you could filter all water but you would go thru your filter material about 4-5 times quicker than you need too.
