Thank you so much. I dumped my Amazon Firestick because I was so f****** tired of ads for cars and sweets and the other crappy stuff bloating my screen. I bought one of the last Chromecast because I knew I would be able to style its launcher to my needs. And voilà - it works. A clean desktop just with Netflix and the German Free TV streaming services. Nothing more, nothing less.

For those with a bricked Onn Box, this worked for me: while Onn’s power brick connected to power strip, disconnect power cord from the Onn Box, wait 5-10 seconds, then press and hold Reset button, connect power cord and then quickly turn off, and turn on the power strip and you should boot right into the reset menu. Push reset button until you get to command to erase the Onn Box, press and hold until the highlighted command turns green, then release reset button to reboot. If you see the Google TV logo on the screen, means you have to do it again. Remember, Google TV on the screen means do it again!

With Fire TV, is there a way to bypass the Amazon launcher every time you press the Home button? I still see it occasionally. I never saw it with the Onn device, though. Fire had more of the apps I was seeking.

Thank you for this excellent video! I have a small problem, though. I followed your instructions carefully, but I am unable to install the Launcher Manager. I used Wolf Launcher until now but deinstalled it according to your instructions. I then installed the ATV Launcher without any problems, but when I tried to install the Launcher Manager, I could not do so. After download and click on installation I was asked to update the App and then received this error message: "App not installed as package conflicts with an existing package". The strange thing is that I did not uninstall the Launcher Manager (which I used at the time when making Wolf my default launcher). But I cannot see it either in my list of installed apps! Is there a solution for this problem. The ATV Launcher as such works fine but I would like it to be my standard Launcher. Thanks!

Hello, many apps come with widgets. I would suggest searching Google Play for weather widgets or just weather apps and see what you get.

Can you please show how to use our pics for background. I previously used send anywhere but never got the mouse toggle to work on a shield so I used the shield app as a pointer. There has to be an easier way! Also is there a way to share from an iPhone to a shield a photo for a background in the new launcher straight away ?? Love your content. Been following for years. I love my world launcher! I just spent time rounding the corners of the icons to give a new look.

Thanks, Troy. I've been using Wolf Launcher but have had issues where KODI would hang on a black screen after launching. From there I'd have to clear KODI's cache. Since your vid, I've been trialling ATV Launcher Free and have had no issues with KODI so far, so I've just purchased ATV Launcher Pro. Question: is Launcher Manager not required to have ATV Launcher Pro set as my default launcher?

Glad to hear it is working for you. You should still have to use Launcher Manager to set Wolf as default or pressing on home button on remote will take you back to default.

I have some saved information on my USB, mainly my favorite channels from my service that I've setup up for use on Tivimate, it downloads perfectly on my firestick and Tivo, but I can't get it to work on any of my Onn devices, would this launcher help me to do that or is there another way? Does the ATV launcher run by default after a reboot? That was an issue with WolfLauncher in the past.

Hi, yes it does because we are using Launcher Manager. If you are referring to doing this on a Fire TV, no it does not with the new 2023 sticks. It does work with older sticks running Fire OS 6 with Launch on Boot app. I quit messing with launchers on the Firestick since Amazon keeps blocking access. Android TV/Google TV so much better.

I tried making some changes to wolf launcher but it's a steep learning curve, wanted to move ui items further apart, wanted to remove empty section text so I could add anempty section to add a bit more blank space between applications row and widgets. like the new live wallpapers etc in atv but still prefer wolf as it has more options, if someone could take the best of both and merge into one itd be great
