New Brake Pad & Rotor Kit from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ib/1ABF...
Brake pads wear out over time, much like tires, and need replacing, on average, every 50,000 miles, with variations depending on driving habits and environment. Brake rotors may also need to be replaced if they are warped or grooved. Often, it’s safer and more cost effective to replace pads and rotors at the same time. Squealing or grinding noises, or wheel vibration are all symptoms of worn brakes. This video shows you how to install new, quality TRQ brake pads and rotors on your 2012-2016 Honda CRV
This process should be similar on the following vehicles:
2012 Honda CR-V
2013 Honda CR-V
2014 Honda CR-V
2015 Honda CR-V
2016 Honda CR-V
Tools you will need:

Oh, I do want to say that your video is excellent! The best I've seen. For one thing, as you work, you provide clear details, INCLUDING the size of the sockets to use. But what I really notice is that the lighting you have to illuminate that area is excellent. I have our car up on the jack and supports right now and I know that it's very dark in there. I can see that I'll have to set up better lighting too. We amateurs need as much light as possible to we can clearly see the parts we SCREW UP! LOL

The fancy hanger for the caliper and the tool to push back the piston are handy, but you can use a coat hanger and c-clamp too. Nice video.

Thanks for the clear and concise video. It made the job understandable and I was able to complete it with confidence. Beats the hell out of the videos of guys in flip-flops, crying kids, and barking dogs trying to explain the proper installation of the most critical components on a car.

Good vid - whoever did your previous maintenance didn’t do a good job. They remove those two screws and did not replace which would’ve been there in the first place. That’s not a big deal because they’re really not necessary. But they didn’t put the grommet back either for the emergency brake adjustment hole. Brake cleaner needs to be done on both sides before mounting rotor (the emergency break interior rotor surface. Great vid!

ON these Honda CR-V (2016) have you seen a problem where the rear, passenger side hub (the hub that is part of the rotor) get almost glowing orange hot? I mean, so hot that if you pour water over it, it sizzles up with massive steam, in a violent way? We've been having an issue where the "flat tire" light comes on randomly. Not often, perhaps not for weeks, then it just comes on. I have to stop, put car in park and press the tire indicate button to reset it. Then it's usually fine from then on. However, yesterday, this happened twice, which is way out of character. On the 2nd time, I pulled over to a safe spot and checked pressure in all tires. I understand how this tire monitor system works. It's not by actual pressure, but how the spin count of the wheel. The pressures were all good. So then, I thought I should touch each wheel to see if it's getting hot. 3 of them were fine, but this right, rear one was searing hot! I REALIZE THAT THERE'S A PROBLEM there. The first thing that came to mind was perhaps the bearings, even though, I don't hear that usual grinding sound when bearings start to go. But I also though, MAYBE, JUST MAYBE the emergency brakes might be causing this issue. So logically, I needed to test this. I stopped again and touched the wheel. It was hot. I then touched the calipers. They were "normal" temperature. Not enough to burn my fingers. But then, I foolishly touched the actual hub (that the rotor is attached to) and yes, burned my 2 fingers. I then poured some water over the calipers to confirm and nothing happened. But again, when I poured the water over the hub, BIG DRAMA with major sizzling and steam. Clearly, the hub is where the heat is coming from. So I'm back to either it's the bearings that are shot or the emergency brakes are rubbing too hard on the inner part of that hub. But my logic suggests that the bearings wouldn't cause THAT much heat on the hub itself. The heat from bad bearings would be more distributed AND if bad bearings were causing THAT MUCH searing heat, they'd have to be making some major noise. So, have you seen this before and from my description, do you think I'm on the right track here? I'm glad that I saw the emerg. brake adjustment screw, because I plan on taking this apart and perhaps loosening it a bit there. I'll also have my other half push the emerg break pedal to confirm it is moving in and out as expected. Ideas?

Real nice content. New viewer I subbed. Just bought a used 2012 crv last month and the rear pads just started squealing lol. Honda always recommended silicone grease on the pins and caliper grease elsewhere. Not sure if that changed. Are the rotors replaced at every pad change?

I asked couple of shops about turning my rotors both said they make them too thin to turn. They recommended just getting new rotors. I wouldn’t just change the pads it will give you uneven wear.
