This video shows you how to install a new wheel bearing and hub on your 2001-2007 Ford Escape. Not only can a worn wheel bearing or hub be annoying if it is noisy or vibrating, but it can also lead to accelerated wear in other parts, or unsafe driving conditions. Replacing your worn bearing or hub with a quality TRQ part is a safe, smart, decision.
This repair was done on a 2006 Ford Escape XLS 2.3L and the process should be similar on the following vehicles:

The ABS tone ring is on the axle for these cars, so you can press the bearing in either way right? There shouldn't be a directional magnetic ABS component in the bearing that you have to align correctly with the ABS sensor.

I also have an 01 Escape and the CV shaft would skip on acceleration so I changed it and it still skipping on acceleration so I assumed the hub was the problem all along. Would this work on the front aswell because I'd like to order the hub and bearing instead of changing the hub and I probably should order another CV axle since its been skipping and probably has been damaged. Thank you, Marcel

Why do you use the puller then the press as well? Would the puller be sufficient??

You don’t need to take out the caliper & brake pads to remove the caliper bracket, you can just remove the caliper bracket bolts and take that all out in one piece, less work, saves time, no problem!

On my 08 Ford escape I didn't do any of that all I do is remove the hub the bearing came out right with it took me like 20 minutes to replace it

Hey gotta ask something hope you'll find time to answer I have 2001 escape 3.0 XLT ., when I drive it starts to vibrate but only from 40km/h to 60km . before 60 and below 40 it doesn't vibrates, can't find answer :( Can it be faulty bearings ?

Are your tires balanced? Unbalanced tires will vibrate at specific speeds. Check your rims for balancing weights. If they are not present then that's almost definitely the issue.

Mine was doing the Same thing, I replaced both u joints on driveshaft and the vibration went away. Mine was from 40 mph to 65mph.
