Nkrumah will be remembered as long as it takes.What has Africa achieved since Nkrumah's death.I still can't believe that his vision and ideas were misunderstood.While most of West African leaders, East, Central and South African leaders did not unite with him, the African leaders in North Africa were intelligent enough to give him their support . Nkrumah was the greatest visionary of all time.Nyerere of Tanzania was one of the opponents of United Africa. I wish he is still alive to witness his folly for opposing Nkrumah.
@katikirocharles1403 Жыл бұрын
Mwalimu Nyerere, my President, in one, either celebrations of Ghana's I dependence or Osagyefo's birthday, to which he wa invited to driver speech, he declared he was wrong and Osagyefo Dr. Nkrumah was right...had he listened! Whatever the definition it goes by, be it apology or bearing responsibility, would not have changed anything, but Nkrumah had little time sell such noble agenda amid such powerful sociohistorical and cultural/ideological difficulties and resistance to unification, especially from Francophone countries, because reactionary elements in Ghana itself decided to assist the empirialist agenda. Very painful that the redeemer was declared 'useless' by Gen. Ankrah in his first press conference after the coup!

I was just in Ghana and purchased a couple of books of his speeches at the Museum for Mr. Nkrumah in Accra. These books are filled with really wise teachings. I see him as the man who turned Garvey's dream into reality. Like all humans, he made some errors, but the good he did far outweighed his bad, and we can learn much today from his writings.
@lvpn1443 жыл бұрын
There is no question he is a brilliant mind and leader but with all balances of power a leader must know when it is time for him to take up his post and leave for new leadership to continue. Africa’s chief problem is not lack of resources or even of opportunity but it’s chief problem has and continues to be corruption from the smallest facets of society to the large governing powers corruption is like cancer to a nation and the peoples of that nation. Bureaucracy is also a chief problem as it undermines progress and creates the first chief problem corruption. Finally lack of skilled labour many Africans are capable and choose to apply their capacity to foreign companies and nations who will pay top dollar to acquire their expertise and knowhow. A good example of this is Nigeria where many chemical engineers have went to the US/Europe and Far East of Asia to pursue a carrier when in reality their nation is in desperate need of their expertise. The AU is a step in the right direction but it is evident that foreign powers still wish to exploit Africa for its resources rather than help the Africans stamp out corruption and bring forth the industrial revolution that has swept across US/Asia/Europe.

You know there's a famous German man with a fancy mustache who said the white skinned, blue eyed blonde haired aryean race was the only race capable of building a nation and the only reason any other race like Asians and Arabs was able to do anything was by race mixing with their superior genes. I must make several corrections of the facts. The west deliberately lowered the cocoa quota to zero, and the price per ton which Ghana received for her coca crop. It went from 190 pounds per ton and precipitously dropped to 77 pounds per ton. That caused an automatic deficit in that industry alone. Ghana's International creditors were threatened with severe sanctions (by the west) if they continued to do business with Ghana. The prices of heavy equipment needed to excavate raw materials were exorbitantly raised with the intent to cripple the CPP's industrial program as well. The western nation leaders were livid about President Nkrumah's book Neo-Colonialism the last stage of Imperialism. It blew the lid off of the international finance capital plundering Afrika's resources perpetuating poverty on the continent. They.promptly denied Ghana a $35 million dollar loan package that she was good for. This was an economic squeeze to sabotage Ghana's development efforts which has been to that point carried out with a great degree of success. Ghana was in it's next step toward economic independence, which was the path away from the colonial economy they inherited.. The CPP was working through that "squeeze" before the coup d'etat occurred. Military-Police traitors with the collaboration of the C. I. A. ended Ghana prosperity and turned it back to the mercy of the colonial governments by installing a puppet government, reestablishing their interlocking business combines to continue the exploitation of Ghana's resources for western economies. That's what happened.
