It is ironic that this guy is actively trying to prove that he doesn't have free will, thereby trying to change our minds about free will not existing. Now if I don't have free will and I'm determined to not believe him that I don't have free will then I will not believe him.

All this says is that we do things for reasons determined by our learning, our history, by the environment to which our existence is conditioned -- however if the universe is determined, the part of the universe closest to us is the part inside our skin, the inside of our skin participates with the outside in determining what happens after. You still have partial control, as does the butterfly of the butterfly effect.
