IDK if that fabric is glued onto the foam or not BUT, it might be interesting to have 1 panel with aluminum facing inward and 1 with it facing outward, take an infrared thermometer and shoot temps (side by side) when out in direct sun light. Just food for thought. Great job

Great idea. This one will not be modified for such an experiment, but I bet I can set up another test apparatus.

You could simply add mylar sheeting to the other side that wasnt foil faced to have both heat holding and reflecting powers 👍

I’m going to say that this is one of your nicest builds. Dave you need to go on a nice trip and enjoy this one. You are a craftsman Dave and, I’ve told you that you have inspired me big time my friend. I’ve been 2 years the first of May since I started on mine but, I’ve really had fun and, just taking my time on the build. You should be proud of the job you’ve done. Very nice man. Ted in Arkansas

I built a similar version of your 4.0 late last fall. Ran out of time.. however, i may remove the roof and build similar to your roof shape and extend it over the cab of the truck. Sucks to redo the roof but t's still not completed yet and i feel that your roof is a much better improvement.

Tough call… I agree, I do like the new design

Oh I do like the look of the blue ceiling it may in fact make it look larger - good choice. Dave I have a question in your opinion what is a good wing length? How many inches out from the side of the bed? Can it be as wide as your trucks non rv sized mirrors? thanks
@EndgameCampers6 ай бұрын
I can’t make a definitive statement from an engineering perspective, but my largest camper, 3.0, had a total width of 84 inches. On a full size truck, that width felt very comfortable and I may even consider another two inches. I hope that is helpful. Thanks for your feedback

@@EndgameCampers thank you I have a 2018 Ram 1500 so I will look into the 84 inches 😃

Dave your coming along great👍. Would ever build Wood Camper 8 foot bed Box Camper w/Slight Curve At Front (Air Flow) & 6'3" Tall interior? No Bed Or Counter Or A/C. Take Care! always Tommy🤠

Sorry Tommy, I don’t do any custom builds. I have considered though making a full cabover version with a similar roof profile.

why wouldnt you buy multiple half inch foams so that you can have multiple radiant barriers in a row within one wall? the foam or the bubblewrap of a reflectix is technically the airgap. a 1 inch is pretty much the cost of 2 half inches and arguably gives you a better R value since half inch is 2 and inch is 3.9. double a R-2 you get 4. for thin walls, every radiant foil gap counts. idk, Im doing it in my camper build. i hope it goes well. im also using way more than just the foam. i got aerogel batting, MLV for soundproofing, the foam, and reflectix
