Wow what an awesome camp spot! I have a Nissan Frontier with a palomino ss500 camper. It has everything we need. I have it set up with a dc/dc charger off of the alternator and a 100ah battery. It has a 3 way fridge and as long as the fridge is cold when we start traveling I can run it on 12v. We switch to propane at the camp spot. We only dry camp with it. Enjoy your travels and hope you find many more fantastic destinations.

The Palomino SS500 is a nice looking camper. I recently got a 100ah LiFePO4 battery for the camper. A DC/DC charger is still on my list so for now I am charging it via solar and AC power for the truck bed outlet while driving using a NOCO 5 amp charger. It is nice being able to run the fridge off of the battery while driving whereas before I just had to hope the fridge stayed cool enough until I got to my spot and turned on the propane.

Awesome little camper ! You could deck that out with solar and lithium and 12v fridge and still have a ton of money compared to a new FWCamper. I'd buy it in a second !

Yeah I think that is the route I'm going to go...eventually!

I got mine for $2,600. Has the roof AC. Indoor dry bathroom. It doesn't have the furnace or hot water heater. The 3 way refrigerator was removed before I got it. I have 355 watts of solar on it with 2 batteries and a 2000 watt inverter. I set it up so I can plug my shore power cord back into the camper, that runs to the inverter. That way all my electrical runs off the solar and batteries, including all the AC plugs. Update, I now have the 3 way refrigerator.

Great camper! Does the bungee cord around the canvas help with folding/opening pop up?
@PFCBarefoot2 жыл бұрын
It does. Although it could be a bit tighter.

I like the concept to assist folding. Next, I'll try running the fan backward during folding to see if fabric is drawn in.... Happy Camping

Great video! I’m looking at purchasing this exact unit for my Tacoma.. wondering how it’s working for you so far? Any upgrades to your suspension? Thanks
@PFCBarefoot Жыл бұрын
The Tacoma rear suspension is not the best. With stock suspension we were bottoming out quite a bit. We added some Sumo Springs bump stops to help carry the load. They have worked fine for us.

Great thanks.. I do have the sumo springs but they are freezing here in Southern Colorado.. I’m about to install airbags & hope that makes a difference

@PFCBarefoot I bought a '98 sun lite sky hawk, same-ish on weight. Beefed up leaf springs and did the medium sumo springs(black ones). Kinda thinking I need to do the heavy (yellow) sumo's.
