Welcome to this week's video. This is my one-year anniversary on KZbin making videos. I really appreciate you taking the time to follow along on my adventures. This week I headed up to the North Shore in search of open forestry roads, but they were still closed. I did find some beautiful waterfalls and quiet hikes all to myself. I don't think I will ever get sick of NE Minnesota. Thanks for checking it out, I'll see you down the road.

Thanks for the shoutout and the chat buddy! Hopefully dropping a video this Sunday! Just need to stop working so damn much. Took a couple days off just to decompress from that job before I started feeling obliged to finish a project that has beeen on the back burner for about 5 months. Now I’m done and looking forward to actually taking some time off!

I think so too. I am happy with my camper, it feels like home. Everyone that goes inside the camper is always amazed that they are standing in the bed of a truck. My nephew has been in the background of my last few videos. He is 6'5", he is amazed that he can stand straight up in the camper. The full bathroom, kitchen, full queen bed and and large fridge and freezer make staying in the backwoods so comfortable.

Thanks that it awesome. I really like watching all the regulars in BC. I think Taylor Dzaman opened up my eyes to Victoria Island a few years ago. I see Chrome was passing through Thunderbay on his last video. That was cool to see because it's only 30 minutes north of where I was looking for camping spots. I'm grateful for being so close to 3 million acres to explore.

@gbadeboadebowale4488 I appreciate that. I've gotten used to the schedule over the last two years. I record on Saturday and Sunday. It's my days off from my regular job. I edit all night Sunday and when i get off work Monday. I put in 45 hours a week at my day job. I work for the Department of Public Safety. I think it's cool for people who follow along to see the changing of our seasons. What you see on Tuesday night is what I was doing 2 days prior. There's no backlogs of videos. When I do reviews, it really gets crazy. I record them on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights to have them uploaded Friday. I will average 4 to 5 hours of sleep per night on those weeks. That's why I'm lazy in some of my videos when it's raining. I have to take a break when I can.

Looking forward to your second year, so keep 'em coming! As always, beautiful scenery and entertaining. Yep, I follow Down by the River, missing his vids, too. I'd love to be able to get a truck and camper, but the prices are beyond ridiculous. Got my eye on a Bigfoot Class C, has more room than a TC and definitely more affordable, but just not sure. I don't think it's much longer/larger than your truck camper at 29 feet, so I think it would have fair maneuvering ability, though not like your 4WD. Like you, we prefer not to use RV parks unless absolutely necessary, instead staying off grid as much as possible. Sure would love to see those prices come down!
@KennyOfAllTrades
@KennyOfAllTrades 2 жыл бұрын
I can't believe the prices! Crazy! I saw a 1999 Bigfoot on face for 19,000 dollars. People were saying how the wished they were closer so they could buy it. 19 grand a 23 year old camper, thats crazy. I don't know how people are coming up with the money. No bank is loaning that kind of money on an old camper. I just don't get it. I like Camper Van Kevin's Class C Bigfoot. The garage is an excellent idea. It is a really well built camper.

I'm a vanlifer and I am insulted with your remarks on van living 😂😂 Actually no. I started with a truck camper and I LOVED IT! My problem was moving all my gear front to back with those stairs and having a lung condition. I think a truck camper has a lot of advantages especially with the overhead bed freeing up floor space. I then went to 19' Class C and it was AMAZING!! Bigger then the truck camper in floor space. Problem was it was the same width as the truck camper BUT it was wider lower down and did not fit in places I liked to drive. The I bought a Ford Transit and converted it. While it is technically the same size as the truck camper having no cab over bunk cuts down on things I can have. BUT it is so much easier to drive then the truck camper and class C that I am in love. The Transit is so light and manoeuvrable. It has a kitchen, a sink with cold water, a fridge, a portapotti and a bed. If I went full time I would consider something larger but for me at this time the van is my home away from home!! Hopefully it warms up some for you and dries up the mud!
@KennyOfAllTrades
@KennyOfAllTrades 2 жыл бұрын
I would love to try a Transit, I'm sure I would like it. A 4x4 with a small lift would fit the bill. I do really like the overhead cab of the truck camper though. It separates the kitchen and bedroom nicely. They all have there pros and cons.

I have a video where Mandi and I explored the Gun Flint trail. I was trying to find remote campsites for the camper, but not a lot of luck. We came across a few, I was surprised how many small communities are on the lakes up there. I have never fished Poplar Lake, it looks beautiful though. I thought trails end campground was beautiful. We stopped at a few lodges along the way. Everyone was really nice.

@@KennyOfAllTrades It was only lately someone mentioned that lake to me as I had never looked that closely at a map to realize there were people and cabins up in that part of the state. There are so many lakes in that area ( might be a reason why they call Minnesota land of 10000 lakes ! ) and not sure how a lot of them are even accessed other then hiking forever, snowmobiling or flying into them by pontoon aircraft. I see you went all the way to the very end so you indeed have a good picture of what that area is like. I imagine the mosquitoes are even friendlier then the people LOL.
