This sponsorship is huge but makes me wonder did they force him to blur out other brand names? He never blurs out the Ford logos or the F150 logos until today. Maybe he had a bad conversation with the head of Ford or something, I could see them being a massive sponsor if they worked together well
@calebmcdowell90942 жыл бұрын
@@SeniorWhoopyIRL Columbia definitely had terms for blurring out other marketing names in this video. It’s not just the truck, it’s the condiments Mav uses, the stores he going to, anything that shows the name of logo front and center, he has to blur out for the sponsor. It is kind of odd in this case because “Columbia” and “Ford” are not like rivals or strange bedfellows, but I would wager Columbia has a blanket statement for not being associated with other brands in their sponsor agreements.

I worked up there for two years back in the day…hard work, but Im glad to have the memories. My first job was off the north coast on a ice island. Really crazy stuff…the winters get so cold…the trucks are left running 24/7… we had to fill up our diesel trucks every day and a half. Once you are on the other side of security and on the drilling pads…fuel is free to workers as is all food. Good food too. There used to be a subway in deadhorse if I recall, but not much need for a real grocery store because the oil companies feed you. Mav, you are living your best life sir…good on ya.

Amazing to watch you grow in all ways, over your years, In just a few months viewing. And terrific viewing it IS!!! Thanks MAV. Tip for less cleaning on your travels, use a large oven bag inside your slow cooker... just place it in the bottom of pot, then work it gently to bring top of bag up and over the rim, to the outside of the whole appliance. It won’t burn and it doesn’t change the performance and you can just either throw it away, or if leftovers, use the bag ties that come with, then stick in a container in the fridge ...less cleanup, so more time to keep on truckin...safe travels

Nice video! I worked in Dead horse for 20 years in the security group. I was thinking when you were flying your drone, please don't let security see him. They would have made a big deal out of it. Glad you made it. You know a small handful of natives will drive along the shoreline of the Arctic ocean to and from Dead horse to Barrow. If you are Native to the North Slope you can traverse through the oil field. What an adventure that would be. During the hard winter when they build the ice roads they drive direct to some of the villages. Interesting place indeed!

Tip on cleaning the pot for the rice cooker after use: I put a little bit of water and leave it there for a few hours. Because if you don't, the rice bits harden and you're going to have a hard time scraping it off. By sitting it in some water for a while, it's easier to clean it out because the leftover rice doesn't stick to the pan, and just slides off.

Normally you'll need to chill or freeze your butter to grade it. You could just use a large folk and fold the butter into your flower gently. One's done fold the biscuit dough 5 times or so. Or you could hand roll into balls no folding and set in your pan. Cook on low heat. Flipping untill done. Your cooking skill is just a show all in it's self. I want to crawl into the screen and cook up your food then crawl back relax so you can enjoy. Double mince Hamburger meat or chicken for the melt in your mouth hamburger's or chicken patties. Dang, I got excited because my home town is the northernmost town in North America, but I was confused how you got there. Makes sense that you didn’t because you can only get there by plane or by boat (half of the year when the ocean isn’t too frozen over 😂). You should totally go there! Not for fun but for the experience! It’s called Utqiagvik (Barrow). If you do go I can give my grandma a heads up and she can hook you up with Native food!
@JasonBoyce2 жыл бұрын
I was in Utqiagvik shortly before the pandemic, it was an incredible place to visit. Everyone was so friendly, I was out walking towards the football field and a guy pulled his truck over to tell me to go to the beach and check out the whales. I was there for the Nalakatuk, which was great to see everyone out and around.

I just wonder how much they offered him. I don’t know how much money I would have to be offered before I would consider it worth it to sit there and blur out literally every brand in existence besides Columbia. I’m surprised he didn’t have to cut out when he said Spam 😂

Fantastic video Mav! You definitely have to write a book: be top of best sellers list Fast👍 Unreal what’s at the top of Alaska.. oil oil and more oil… I guess most outfits feed their own employees thus no store and few restaurants. Being able to see that far north for me Thru your camera lens: Priceless Mav👍 Your Columbia coat looks very warm and quite light!! 👍 Glad your truck and tires are running A OK!!! Thought you might have carried jerky cans of gas? Quite the board of stickers and pins👍 Safe travels home Mav👍 B Deacon Manitoba Canada 🇨🇦

Hey Mav, it’s BBLs not gallons in the pipeline, 42 gallons equals one barrel of oil. At todays price there’s around 35 million flowing through it on a daily basis. I started out at the place where all those mud boxes you said was cement, it’s the Mi Swaco mud plant, we make the drilling fluids there and it’s hauled out to the rigs and they use it to drill with. Hope you enjoyed your time there. I’ll be headed back up in a little while to start another hitch.

Awesome video man! Sweet to see you in Deadhorse, where I work for 6 months of the year, 3 weeks at a time. Not a whole lot to do here, other than work! Believe it or not, there are actually oilfields about 2 hours farther north, Kaparuk, and Alpine, where I also work. Alpine has a drilling pad that’s right off the coast of the Arctic Ocean

If anyone reads that that's young enough to travel like Mav does... just do it. Because itll be a lot harder once you are stuck at a job, and have a family to provide for. Man, if I could do it over again.

Thanks MAV for the videos, been a rough couple years. Broke both ankles, gained weight, complications with the ankles, now both hips bone on bone...yes blah blah blah all drama but not looking for sympathy. I make my life the best mo matter whats thrown at me, HOWEVER, a MAV video sure helps with some of those worse days. You keep doing your thing and that itself will help me Keep On Truckin'.

Thank you for taking us all along on your wild dangerous adventure across Alaska . I see every inch of available space in your truck is loaded I'm sure you get thousands of suggestions I can't help making some too . Small e-bike , bolt on gas cans , emergency tracking device , I'm laughing at myself because I was just as adventurous in my younger years just set off in my 1969 Ford van without a second thought .

As a former trucker I relied heavily on a lunchbox stove as it is called to heat up canned foods and it did a fine job. Remember all canned food is cooked already so even if you don't have a way to heat it you can still eat it.

Mav it’s barrels, not gallons. There are 42 gallons in a barrel of oil. Pipelines are measured in barrels. Aleyaska pipeline is about 9 million barrels of line fill. So basically 378 million gallons. Great video by the way.
