I just got a 21 Titan with the Rocky Ridge K2 package. I don’t know why I never considered the Titan before. It has to be one of the most overlooked and under rated trucks. Coming from a Toyota I couldn’t be happier. Fit and finish in mine is top notch, great ride, quiet, plenty of storage, and probably the most comfortable seats and driving position of any truck I’ve been in. Most importantly, it has a unmolested V8 (no start stop/AFM/DFM/MDS etc). I’ve had Rams, F-150s, Silverados, Sierras (including a black widow edition), Tundras, and a Tacoma. Every single reviewer I come across almost without exception is very complimentary about this truck (Nissan Titan). Great value, over built, punches above its weight, confident tow vehicle, commercial quality recirculating ball steering gear, etc. If I have a 26 gallon tank, at 17 mpg/.0588 gpm, I have a range in the neighborhood of 400 miles. I need to stop to make coffee anyway. Wasn’t everyone lamenting the death of the NA V8 about two breaths ago? Okay it’s an interference engine, it’s got a 5 yr/100k warranty and the local store pluses that up. I don’t want to race it, I won’t take it to Moab except to drop off a Razer. I just want to drive it and not back to the dealership service bay. These trucks seem like the value play by a company that has good engineering in them. Maybe not the bleeding edge of tech or style, but solid and a good price comparatively. Local store also sells for the price on the window with no add ons. Yeah, if they can just get some in.

@Jackmerius_Tacktheretrix Жыл бұрын
Its 390hp on regular. You won't notice 10hp on a vehicle that jeavy, especially when towing. It will still run just fine on regular unleaded. I tow on the heavier side more often than not, and my XD weighs over 7,000lbs and thats where the XD beats all other half tons when it comes to stability. I love Tundras but I'm not a fan pf the new one because they no longer offer the v8. My wifes sequoia has the 5.7 and we love the power. They should have refreshed the 5.7 to make more power and get better fuel economy. To me the XD is the perfect compromise because you get the same stability you get in a 3/4 ton without the rough/stiff ride. I don't need a 3/4 ton for what I tow because im in the 9k-10k lb range most times, but I love thw extra stability amd confidence with how the XD handles the weight. Ive towed my tractor with an F150 5.0 and a tundra 5.7 and there is mo comparison when it comes to stability, especially in crosswinds or when an 18 wheeler comes flying from the opposite direction on a 2 lane rd.

I am debating which one to get so I rented a tundra this summer for a road trip from Texas to Colorado, here are some of my findings from the Tundra: it’s fast! Great LED headlights, good infotainment system, can lower rear glass, soft 4 coil suspension. What I didn’t like: electric power steering, awkward center console, seats too low for me (6’2” ) bad MPG, open deck cylinder block and it has two additional radiators for the intercooler (more things that will leak and go bad). I wish Nissan would bring back the Xterra or some midsize level RWD SUV to run with the likes of a 4Runner or Durango running off the Titan DNA. Thought about a Frontier, but why spend 40K when you can get a decently equipped Titan for not that much more.

The handle is pulled forward then up it’s spring loaded The side mirrors turn down when switch is turned to left or right when backing up And the pitch of truck when towing you can lower the lights angled lower

BTW, to use the handle in the box on the Nissan as an assist, you leave the knob tight and pull outward on the handle, pivot it and let it lock into place once vertical... Very handy if you don't have a cover.

I have an 2016 Titan XD with the diesel and that thing is a CHAMP. it weights 9,000 lbs...that's heavier than some 3/4 ton trucks. since being deleted and tuned it gets about 24mpg going 55 And remember folks the transmission in the diesel XD is rated to 27,000 lbs! The titan XD is one heck of an overbuilt truck compared to chevy, dodge and ford for sure. it's sad they let the diesel go in 2019 :/ I heard cummins wouldn't sell them the engines cheap enough tho :/

I know at the Nissan dealership I worked at when the Titan 1st came out, a lot of people thought it was Japanese version of the F-150. But the Titan has always been a solid truck in my opinion.

I bought a Nissan Titan Pro4X the same day my wife bought a Ford F150 with 3.5 twin turbo, the Ford gets a little better milage but I have had a few warranty issues with the Ford, nothing at all has gone wrong with the Nissan. Too bad it has bee dropped in Canada, I plan to keep both for a long time, as I am not a fan of electric

At first I thought the tow rating for the xd was a misprint. Never seen one rsted that low. Most are 12k+. My 16 platinum reserve diesel is rated higher than that, and so is my buddys 17 gas xd

The 2022 XD has a max of 11,060. I thought it was a mistake as well. The XD Pro-4X would be a badass tow rig.

@@nismomike3182 I have a 16 XD platinum reserve diesel and its an amazing tow rig. Ive towed my wifes food traiker with an f150 5.0 and a tundra 5.7 and as far as stability theres no comparison. The XD doesnt get moved around in windy conditions like the half tons did. It really tows with alot more confidence than a half ton. If youre towing in the heavy side the XD is much better overall than a regular half ton.

@6:48, the max towing on the Nissan Titan XD is not 9700 lbs. Rather, for an XD, it should be just over 11000 lbs.

The Tundra is too much hype, not sure if it's because of the "Toyota" badge. But in my opinion is that EPA has been ruining it for us with options of V8's. The V8 is a dying breed, and it's sad, because V8's were a way to reliably put down the power. I'm not beating up the FI V6's out there, but FI (forced induction) is comes in today's standards because of EPA. Now Ram is releasing the new Hurrican inline 6, which will ne interesting. GDI and FI don't go together, it's why Ford revamped the EcoBoost to dual fuel injection which take us right back to the same inefficiencies of the V8. It's a viscious cycle, and at the end of the day, you throw a trailer behind any one of these and your MPG goes to sh!t anyway.🤷🏻♂️

So what is the vehicle going to be used for throughout its life? lf it is hauling trailers and big loads every day of the week then the V8 Titan would suit better, but for normal usage and best fuel economy, towing only once a month, then the Tundra would suit best. Long term depreciation would be kinder to the Tundra as well.

I have the 2022 frontier Pro-X (4x2) with all upgraded options you can get. I love the truck and he’s right the zero gravity seats are amazingly comfortable. I have owned a few Tacoma TRD’s in the past that were also 4x2. They still had a rear lock differential. The frontier I have is the same competitor, 4x2 but with the off-road tires and suspension and all that, but no rear lock diff. That is kind of disappointing. Otherwise not a bad truck. I do like Japanese, I think they are better quality than the American brand counterparts that worry more about board of director stock prices and profit while making cheap crap parts.

11,120 tow rating, but only 1400lb payload on Toyota? Factor in 10-15% trailer tongue weight and you’d have to have a horse jockey by himself to drive the truck. The simple math doesn’t add up. The big 3 play the same numbers game, so just pointing out the obvious BS tow ratings.

I’m going to tell you a story when I was searching for pick up trucks to buy and I bought a 2019 F150 35 best truck I’ve ever owned in my lifetime. The reason I won’t buy a Toyota tundra because they ruined that truck the front bumper is plastic. The rear coil springs are a big turn off if you tell, when I pulled the cab off of these trucks, you can see what a nightmare it is to work on that V6 engine. The Nissan titan looks like a great truck. I just don’t know because I’ve never owned one. That’s why I clicked on the video, it’s just to see how great they really are. 😅 that Titan looks excellent man twin turbo would be incredible

I’m about ready to look for a new truck, not necessarily “new” but new to me. And I’ve always been a fan of the Titan XD. I keep hearing from owners that they can’t really tell they are towing a camper because the truck is so balanced and built for towing. My camper is only 7000 pounds, but it pushes my Ram 1500 pretty good. I thought the Titan XD would fix that, not too mention all the options that you get with the XD’s. But the fuel tank, that seems to be its thorn in the side. Why didn’t Nissan engineers make a bigger one? Five more gallons wouldn’t have been that hard to fix. I’ve even tried to figure out an in bed extra tank that can be added for trips and removed for everyday use. I’m thinking 2020 or 2021 since they have the 9 speed transmission. Thanks. Love the channel!!
