I never wanted help either, I just wanted to be drunk, not for the partying or tipsy feeling, I would just go to the store, buy a litre and lay in bed. It is a messed up place to be when you can't remember the past days but assume it's normal. Worst thing was, after a couple days sober, I would be fully functioning and not even think about it until the next day I felt ready to drink. He wasn't reported at all. He probably would have made it to his destination just fine. The only reason he was caught at all was because he passed a scale at the state lines, was called in for a DOT inspection of his equipment- had to talk with Department of Transportation cops ( DOT) and they quickly picked up on his deficits. Had he been left alone, he probably would have made it exactly where he was going without incident. He's an alcoholic alright- but one used to making a paycheck. As an aside- I'll agree, in his state, he had no business behind the wheel. Any disciplinary actions from his job pale in comparison to criminal convictions.
@kennyworth0072 жыл бұрын
Such as what they call in the trucking industry - ''a service failure'' , ie, being late for a pickup or delivery. You may get a few dirtbag loads after that. But, believe me, no company wants to get a call from any DOT cops saying '' we've arrested your driver and, impounded your equipment because - your driver is hammered." He should have just slept it off- took his lumps and gone on with life. Many people struggle with alcohol dependency. They work in ALL fields. This guy, while probably used to drinking- should NOT have been behind the wheel.

@@Mark-pp7jy Trust and believe exactly this that mark said. When I was 18-20 I struggled with alcoholism and it progressed exactly that way. In the beginning I could wait til I got home or somewhere safe to drink but over time I found myself not being able to wait and drinking and driving, blessed enough I never crashed or hurt anyone before finally getting ahold of myself and kicking the habit. Now I'm 6 years sober behind the wheel, I only have a drink or two on my week off. (Drinking and driving before my trucking career to be exact).

Right, I been driving over 7 years now sober lol. People will take a video like this and assume all truckers do it.

Most truck drivers these days are completely careless, and I'm talkin 70% or more. Speeding, not moving over to allow motorists to safely merge, tailgating and on drugs just to name a few.
@RandyBoBandy.2 жыл бұрын
Yes. Perfectly logical statement. Just as watching a video of a person driving a car getting arrested for dui makes everyone think every single person driving a car is hammered. Wtf are you talking about?
@SkinnyDaDon002 жыл бұрын
@@RandyBoBandy. Nope. It sucks we are held at a higher standard when it comes to driving because of the size of our vehicle. The mistakes a everyday person can make we can make but it'll be much more outrage that a trucker made that mistake rather than a ordinary person on the road in a smaller vehicle.

"Let me tell you something important " every time the cop started you could tell that was written on the card

I think it’s done that way for a few reasons. 1. Not every officer knows every law that applies. They know the general terms, but not the whole text. This leads us to point 2. 2. For a case to stick, the lawyers and court need to know that a person was read whatever applicable right they have, and either showing the card to the camera or a visible phone with the text on it can confirm that the person’s rights were read to them truthfully and accurately. The same goes for the definite “yes/no”. If an officer doesn’t get a close, clear appropriation of the above, the court can throw the whole case. By being *that* rote, it seals the case and proves that the defendant was read the text of the right and either agreed or didn’t agree to what rights they had. It’s better for everyone involved.

Bless him. He seems like a sweet guy. Honestly took a lot for me to get sober 25 years ago. Honestly, meetings for support are so necessary forI continued sobriety. Hope he finds his way to sobriety cuz he does seem like a good character

He is driving a semi lol. This could be a video about him killing a bunch of people. What’s the average weight you think 80-100k pounds?? This man probably is a decent guy but this isn’t cool at all we shouldn’t Feel bad for him. Some drunk dude a few years ago in a semi killed one of my co workers because he was shit faced.

This dude is literally a professional drinker. If he was drinking gin and chewing gum they he may have gotten away with it. Absolutely terrifying when truck drivers are drunk as they can kill so many with the truck.
