1. I would love to see the math that a lot of truckers are talking about, saying it's worse than a entry level position at Wal-Mart . 2. I think people are fantasizing about the 9 to 5 white collar world as well. I've said this before on this channel when you get to a certain pay level they expect you to work more than 40 hrs per week. 3. Even if you're working a "9 to 5" some people have to take work home or go into the office on off days. Again, when you do a certain job or salary level, this is expected. So, how some truckers are complaining about being away from home it can be the same while having a "9 to 5". 4. Depending on the job, there are certain expectations that are listed or implied. This goes for trucking and white collar jobs. So, for people saying, "You have to work and live in the truck," that's an expectation of the job unless you're local or regional. Same with white collar jobs, which implies that certain jobs require people to work more than 40 hours. 5. People also saying you don't get overtime trucking are not informed about white collar jobs as well. The current job i have gives "comp time" for certain employees and the others get a max of 10 hrs of overtime per week if necessary and unless theres a natural disaster we dont get that 10 hours. Also, there are others that still give you straight time or make you clock out.

All these non trucker, truck drivers love to compare trucking to a regular 9 to 5 . ( its not ) . Too many people driving trucks that are doing it out of desperation, or money, or using it to jumpstart their KZbin channels, but their not cut out for it . Hell most don’t even want to work period !!

To the person who made that comment, working a walmart job and trucking is a huge difference in pay. Most of Walmart associates get paid on a biweekly basis. Working at Walmart and going home means that a person will spend a lot more just on lifestyle compared to a trucker. I respect all hustlers 💯 Keep the vids coming 🫡

There are some trucking jobs (OTR and Local) that are SHOCKINGLY low on pay. There are definitely quite a few OTR trucking jobs down here in the south where you'll only gross about $1200 - $1400 a week.... to literally LIVE at work. That's not worth a single dollar of my life to me. Single or married. So yeah a job at Walmart will pay you less in dollars, but it pays you way more in freedom. A ton of people and truckers only look at the money.. but it's extremely important to look at the bigger picture in every scenario. Being there everyday for my wife and just family in general is way more valuable than $1200-$1400 a week. Not even worth 3k a week to me personally. I rather hustle at a warehouse or Walmart if OTR was my only option in this industry.

Bro i tried explaining to my wife (college educated) that she makes more than me per hour and she is stuck on the checks i bring home. She works from home on a Gov contract, 40 hour week vs me 50-55 hours per week. We bring home almost same amount bi weekly. Once i showed video of me working in the trailor playing tetris touching cases all day (because load/route is jacked up) she finally understood she makes way more than me per hour. Getting back to college to finish my degree in IT/cyber security / DATA Analytics and currently finishing up FinTech certificate. It was fun in food service but this isnt worth my body and time anymore especially when the pay is not on par with other companies where i am and elsewhere.

So far everyone that I have seen quitting their 9-5 (even the guy that you showed us), said that they want to be content creator and influencer. I haven’t seen one (not saying that there ain’t one) video said I quit a 9-5 to buy a building and become a company/business owner. And that where most of the shaming are coming from. And Something tells me if there was no perk in content creation and just post just for fun and not receiving any perk, there will be a lot less people doing this. I wouldn't say Wal-Mart workers make more, but i can say local drivers do in some cases, as you've mentioned before local work has a high probability of being touch freight which alot of guys (including myself) don't care for, however depending on where you live there is some no touch as well, yea you may put in 10-12 hours a day or more but you park that truck at that terminal or yard and you go sleep in your bed! That's the best way in my opinion you're not flying down the highway chasing miles and hoping your dispatcher get you home on time.

Right. I doubt the majority of standard Walmart associates make more than OTR drivers if you put their yearly salaries side by side. However, it turns into a different conversation when you factor in time spent away from home.

If he's already struggling a few months in that means he never had a plan he was moving off of emotion. Just because he was good at saving his money to get a truck doesn't mean he's gonna be successful in business. During that time he could've at least filed his business name, setup accounts and begin to build credit under that duns number, study prospective markets and find his customer base. Guys get out there without doing the math and research thinking the load board is a Golden Corral and all they gotta do is fill their plates and eat all day.

@longterminvestmentsonly4817
@longterminvestmentsonly4817 Ай бұрын
I get the analogy he is using, but i have friends who are in sales, and marketing, and engineers, and in construction and etc and they all travel for work. Its not just drivers, but we arent the only industry who travels for work. But i wld say this, his analogy is based on how he feels his time is spent or used based on his wants and needs. Im away from home 4 days a week, but my 10 hrs in the truck sleeping is paid by walmart, and we have every tool that we need to be comfortable in the truck so i dont feel the way he may feel. But as a multi unit fleet owner for 17 years if i can go back and be with a great company like where im at i wld choose this path due to off and on of trucking and the industry whereas the turnover rate for our industry is extremely high. But idk if its because im paid to go to sleep, or is it because walmart caters to their drivers, but i dont feel how he feels and how he sees it but i respect it. But i have local drivers who left local work to go otr with walmart because when you work 12 hr shifts, then having to drive home and handle biz or cook, then get up early to head to work most guys only get 6-7 hrs with family. Some guys are ok with that, so i think ppl shld find their niche. Like you Anthony, u do your 3-4 days and have your weekends off and that fits your lifestyle, its all up to the individual. But again i preach this, most ppl can have better quality of life and do wat they want if they just get out of debt and then they can do the things and jobs they really want to do.

This. I've commuted 20 miles to work and home everyday and I've also commuted 240 miles to work and 240 back at the end of the week. Doing the math, whether I work 5 or 6 days, I'm still getting better mpg and saving money with the second commute. Most people won't look at it like that and never consider that second option because they don't want that long commute and rather be home everyday even if they take home less and spend more to get to work 🤷🏿‍♂️. Of course there are more variables and every situation is different, but the way I see it I gotta work anyway so if I can bring home more money that means I can save and invest more and reach retirement and other financial goals faster. Sleeping in a truck or hotel isn't the worst thing in the world lol and I'd do that if I know I'm gonna make up for it somewhere else where my family will benefit.
